I shot Gamma Benjamin a confused look. He glanced my way briefly before just shrugging it off. When he spotted Theta Emon heading in our direction, he quickly said,

"Forget I said anything."

And with that, he walked away. I watched him go, still trying to wrap my head around what he'd meant.

His words made zero sense to me.

I turned to look at Adrian, but he wasn't paying attention to me anymore. He was perched on a barstool, casually sipping wine.

'What's going through that head of yours, Adrian? I know you can't think about me without scheming something,' I thought, studying him.

"Stop staring at him. You'll never have him. He's mine."

That familiar voice made me groan internally. Why did this woman always have to show up?

I turned around with a smile plastered on my face. "Hey there, Lynda."

My smile seemed to catch her off guard. She was wearing this tight red dress that was way too much. The outfit honestly made my stomach turn.

This was a kids' birthday party, not some club where you'd wear something that short and revealing.

If it were anyone else, I wouldn't care. But this was Lynda - the queen of manipulation. I knew exactly what game she was playing.

"What are you even doing here?" Lynda demanded, crossing her arms.

"It's my kids' birthday party - of course I'm here. The real question is, what are you doing here?"

She glared at me like she expected me to cower or something.

"Me? I'm Adrian's girlfriend. He invited me personally."

I nodded, a thought clicking into place. "I see."

"Let me make something clear - stay away from Adrian."

I actually laughed at her little warning. "Tell your boyfriend..."

I paused, smirking. "Sorry, I meant your ex-boyfriend."

Her eyes went wide. "W-What are you talking about?"

I gently took her hand and patted it with my other one.

"Tell your ex not to chase after me anymore. I'm not interested. But it looks like you couldn't keep him satisfied, huh? Is that why he dumped you?"

I threw in a wink just to twist the knife a little deeper. After all the hell this woman put me through when Adrian and I were married, I wasn't about to miss this chance.

She shook her head frantically. "You're wrong! You don't know what you're talking about! He didn't break up with me! So don't even think about making a move on my man. If you so much as look at him again, then - ahhh!"

She let out a pained gasp as I gave her wrist a little twist. She was trying so hard not to make a scene in front of everyone.

I grinned, enjoying every second of this.

"I warned him to stay away from me, but he had the nerve to get close today. Tell him not to try that again. If he keeps messing with my life, I'll make you pay for it."

I released her hand, and she stumbled back, looking shocked.

I patted her cheek and said,

"Good girl. Now run along and get back to chasing after him like you used to, before some other desperate woman beats you to it."
