Alpha's Twins Chapter 129

5 min 30.7K views

The second I heard from the pack fighter, I stumbled backward. My eyes went wide as I looked around, nearly losing my balance before catching myself against the wall.

My brain just couldn't process what was happening. Fear made my heart race. One by one, I looked at each of my family members.

My parents looked completely stunned by the news. Slowly, I turned to look at my little ones.

Tears filled my eyes, and I couldn't hold them back anymore—I just didn't have the strength.

War meant bodies. Lots of them. Most would be from the Alpha's family. I couldn't lose anyone from my family. What about my kids? They were so small. How could they possibly survive a war?

As rage built up inside me, I felt like something was stabbing straight through my heart.

"Backstabber," I whispered, clenching my jaw.

How could Adrian do this?

My parents and brother turned to look at me. I couldn't meet their eyes. This was all happening because of me. I never should have come into their lives in the first place. I was the reason they had to go through all this pain.

"Natalia, don't worry. I'll handle this," my brother said, turning back to the pack fighters.

"Declare war on the Crystal Blood Pack before they reach our border." The fighters immediately stood up and nodded.

"Tell everyone to get ready and head to the forest. I'm going with them."

Everyone left after getting orders from the head Alpha. Eric went to call the Gamma to prepare for war.

Since this was a surprise attack, it would be tough for the Blue Blood Pack to win. Nobody had prepared for war. The fact that the two biggest packs were about to clash in the middle of the night caught everyone off guard.

Jason rushed to his room to grab weapons. When he came back to the living room, he looked at all of us.

"Mom and Dad, stay inside the pack house," he told our parents, then looked at me.

"Don't let her leave. I don't want to lose her in this war. I need to know that even if I die, someone will be here to take my place."

I'd been in shock this whole time. But when I heard my brother talking about me, I broke down crying.

I ran to him and hugged him tight. "Brother, please take me with you."

He patted my head. "No, little one. I can't. You need to stay safe."

I pulled back and looked at him through my tears. "Please."

He shook his head and took a deep breath. My brother was already sick. How could he fight in this condition?

He hugged our parents, who looked at him with broken expressions. "Come back after winning this war," my father said.

He used to be head Alpha. So he couldn't just fall apart during wartime.

But even though my mother was once a Luna, she was still a mother. She couldn't stand watching her son go to war.

In war, one of the Alphas was bound to die. Since Jason was sick and his wolf wasn't responding well because of his illness, it was like he was wearing a death sentence.

Jason slowly walked over to my twins. He knelt down and hugged them.

"Always take care of your mommy, okay? Never leave her side and protect her from every danger," Jason said to Noah.

I covered my mouth to stop myself from sobbing. Noah was just a kid. He had no idea what his uncle was telling him, but he nodded like a big boy and said,

"I promise, Uncle. I'll take care of Mommy."

Jason kissed his forehead and turned to Aria. "You know you're my princess. Always remember that Uncle loves you no matter where he is."

I bit my lip hard to control my emotions. It wasn't like Jason had given up. This was just what every head Alpha did before going to war.

Nobody could see the future. Nobody knew who would end up dead when fate took a turn.

I felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned to see Eric.

I hugged him while crying. He rubbed my back to comfort me. "Take care of yourself."

I shook my head in his arms. "Please don't die. Don't let my brother get hurt."

I kept saying the same thing over and over. I couldn't even describe what I was feeling right now.

"Mommy, why are you and Grandma crying?" Aria asked as she walked over to me.

I looked away from my children since I didn't have an answer for them. Eric hugged Noah and Aria.

"I hope we'll see each other again."

"Why are you saying that, Uncle?" Noah asked, looking confused.

Eric smiled at them and ruffled their hair. "It's nothing. Just a little fight, and we'll be back soon."

"Fight?" Aria asked, glancing at Jason.

Jason gave everyone one last look and headed for the door.

"Jason, my son. Don't go. Do something to stop this war. You're not well," my mother ran to stop him, crying.

"I might be sick, but I can't be a coward. My whole pack is counting on me. I can't die without fighting back."

My mother didn't want to let him go. But my father pulled her away from Jason.

Eric was about to follow Jason when I stopped him.

"Eric, come back without any injuries. I hope we win this war."

Eric stared at me without answering, which caught me off guard. Why was he looking at me like that?

Then I heard what he said.

"It's a war between Jason and Adrian. One of them has to die."
