Alpha's Twins Chapter 153

3 min 30.7K views

The car pulled up in front of an old brick house. I stared at it through the window, already feeling uneasy.

There was this weird smell drifting from inside - something I definitely didn't like. Obviously a wizard lived here. But there was something else mixed in, something I couldn't quite place.

I didn't bother waiting for my driver to come around. I unlocked the door myself and got out.

I headed toward the house with Patric right behind me.

In the daylight, I could see how faded and weathered the place looked - like nobody had touched up the paint in decades.

"Guy can't even afford to paint his house, but he's working for the Royal Family? Alpha Jason must be one cheap bastard," I muttered, shaking my head at how little they probably paid this guy.

When I stopped at the front door, Patric shot me a nervous look.

"Adrian, you planning to kill him?"

I stared at the door, my expression darkening. Yeah, I definitely wanted to kill the man who'd been helping Natalia hide my kids from me.

How could he do that to me?

I didn't answer Patric and raised my hand to knock.

But before I could touch the door, it swung open.

An old man stood there. Even though it was bright and sunny outside, the inside of his house was pitch black.

When our eyes met, I froze.

He wasn't just a wizard - he was a werewolf too! That explained the weird smell. The guy was a hybrid.

I frowned at him. Most people would be terrified to face me head-on, but this old man just looked... fascinated.

"All hail our new Alpha!"

I raised an eyebrow. So he'd already heard about the war. Who the hell told him way out here in the middle of nowhere? From what my beta had told me, the guy lived completely alone.

"Qadir?" Patric asked, like he needed to make sure this was really the right guy.

I got why he was confused. Neither of us had expected the old man to be a hybrid.

The man nodded at Patric and bowed to me.

I was surprised the old guy still had the strength to bow properly.

But then his scent hit me again. It was different from other hybrids - stranger somehow. I'd never liked witches and wizards. Why would I? They weren't like us. Different lifestyles, different everything. They didn't even have wolves.

But people like this old man, who had both a wolf and magic powers, always ended up abusing what they had. Just like he'd done with my children.

"How dare you put a spell on my children?" I asked coldly after telling him to stand up.

He slowly straightened and looked me right in the eyes. I could tell just from that look that he was powerful.

"Alpha, let's talk inside." He stepped aside, gesturing for me to enter without answering my question.

I gave him an icy stare but didn't refuse. I wanted to see how long he could keep up this brave act in front of me.

As soon as I walked in, Qadir went over to the tall windows and opened some blinds to let in light.

Now that I could actually see, I started to look around the place.

But before I could really take anything in, I heard him say something that completely caught me off guard.

"I knew you'd come here eventually. I've been waiting for you for years."
