Alpha's Twins Chapter 105

I pressed my fingers against my temples, feeling the stress building up.

"Adrian Miller, I absolutely hate you," I muttered under my breath.

He'd orchestrated this whole mess just to trash my reputation. How could he spread such ridiculous gossip? Didn't he care about his precious girlfriend? Or maybe he figured she'd never find out?

The thought made me smile wickedly. I pulled out my phone and dialed.

"Hello?" A young woman answered.

"Where's your boss? Put her on."

The woman sounded confused. "Um, who is this?"

"She'll know."

I heard the phone being passed around, then finally heard the voice I'd been waiting for.

"Who is this?"

"Your cheating boyfriend's ex-wife," I said with a smirk, like she could actually see my face.

Lynda went quiet for a moment. I bet she was wondering how the hell I got her maid's number.

That day she humiliated me in front of Adrian and his parents, I'd checked the number she texted me from. Turned out it was her maid's phone. Not as smart as she thought she was – never bothered telling the maid to change numbers. But I never told Adrian either. Those two deserved each other.

"Why are you calling me?" Lynda finally asked.

"Guess you haven't seen the latest gossip yet."

"What gossip?"

"The one about your boyfriend getting cozy with another woman."

"That's ridiculous! He wouldn't do that!"

I laughed. "Oh, but he did. Said he wanted to 'make headlines' with me."

"Impossible! Adrian would never want anything from you. Not after the rep—" She stopped mid-sentence.

"Report? What report, Lynda?" I asked, already knowing where this was going.

"N-Nothing."

"Hold on. You talking about that DNA test someone tampered with? Let me guess – that was you?"

"Natalia, I can't believe you'd accuse me of something like that. You had kids with another man. Don't try to twist the facts."

That set me off. "And yet your boyfriend showed up at my place last night. Guess you're not keeping him satisfied. That's why he keeps coming back to me."

"How dare you!"

"Ask your boyfriend that question. Take my advice – you better lock him down fast. Because if I decide I want him back, you know I can get him."

"Don't you dar—"

I hung up before she could finish. Couldn't help but laugh at what I'd just said.

Truth was, I had zero interest in getting back with that man. I just said all that to mess with Lynda's head.

No doubt she'd guilt-trip Adrian and keep him busy dealing with her drama. With any luck, this would be the last time Adrian would bother me.

I tossed my phone on the bed and headed to the bathroom for a shower. I didn't need to do anything about the news story. I was pretty sure Lynda would find a way to kill it herself.

After my shower, I picked out a nice white dress. I was planning to tour the pack today, so I needed to look presentable.

While doing my makeup, I couldn't stop staring at my neck. That purple mark reminded me of him.

I called Eric and Damia. Eric told us to grab breakfast first, so we headed to the hotel restaurant.

"Where did he take you? Why didn't you tell me about it last night?" Eric looked pissed.

"I handled it. Don't worry," I said, taking a bite.

"Jason said he's gonna teach him a lesson this time."

I looked up. "You told Jason about this?"

"No, he saw the news himself."

I looked away and nodded.

'I can't stop this anymore. That man started it himself. I don't care what my brother does to him at this point.'

I didn't want to talk about Adrian anymore and kept eating.

Eric mentioned he'd sent all the managers back to Blue Blood Pack early this morning.

"You sure you still want to tour the pack?"

He asked again. I knew why – he thought I was upset about Adrian.

Damia looked down when I glanced at her. I squeezed her hand and answered Eric.

"Yeah, I do."

Damia looked at me and shook her head, like I didn't have to pretend. I tried to smile to show her I was okay.

Eric arranged for a car. As soon as we got in, his phone rang. It was Jason.

His expression changed while they talked.

"I'm coming back. Don't worry," Eric told Jason and hung up.

I stared at him, my heart racing. I started worrying about my kids and parents.

Were they okay?

Eric turned to me. "Something came up. I need to get back to Blue Blood Pack right now."

"What happened? Is everyone okay?"

"Everything's fine. We have a pack meeting tomorrow morning. Jason needs me there. So I can't come with you guys today."
