Alpha's Twins Chapter 231
"What did you just say? L-Love her?" Lynda stammered, stumbling backward.
She couldn't wrap her head around it. Adrian had actually admitted he loved Natalia.
For years, Lynda had worked tirelessly to keep that woman out of Adrian's thoughts. So how could he just blurt out that he loved her?
She shook her head and lunged toward him, grabbing his collar and yanking him down to her eye level.
"Tell me you're lying. You love me, not her. Tell me you're just messing with me. What did I do wrong? Have I ever held you back from anything?"
Adrian stared at her, his frown softening as he took in her pale, desperate expression.
He pried her hands off his collar and straightened up, answering with unsettling calm.
"I'm not lying. You'd be better off starting fresh, just like I offered you years ago."
Her eyes went wide. He was bringing up that night from almost six years ago.
Right after Natalia divorced him and fled the pack.
Lynda had thought it was finally over. But her relief was short-lived. A month later, when she tried to get close to him, he pushed her away—even when he was wasted. He kept mumbling Natalia's name, begging her to come back.
"Natalia, how dare you leave me? I'm going to make you pay. Come back to me."
Those were his exact words. She'd had no choice but to leave him there in that state.
After that night, she'd planned to sleep with him while he was drunk.
But he never gave her the chance. Even blackout drunk and out of his mind, he seemed to sense that woman's presence, could still remember her touch.
One night, she thought he was hammered, but he was stone-cold sober. He was brutally honest—told her he didn't love her and wanted to break up.
Ever since then, she'd been emotionally manipulating him for years.
She always wore sleeveless tops so his eyes would catch the scar on her arm, a constant reminder of his guilt.
Everything had been going perfectly. So how had this man suddenly found the guts to move past his guilt?
Fear crept through Lynda. She was terrified of losing him.
"I don't care. I'll never let you break up with me."
She stepped closer and rose onto her tiptoes, wrapping her arms around his neck and tilting her head to the side.
From a distance, anyone would think they were kissing.
Just as her lips were about to meet his, he turned his head, and she ended up kissing his chin.
He shoved her away and gripped her wrist tightly. She froze, stunned by his reaction.
His face showed no anger, but after being around this man for years, Lynda knew he was furious.
Adrian dragged her toward her car.
"You've lost it. Before you do something you'll regret, go home."
"No, please, Adrian. Don't do this to me. I'll die."
Adrian yanked open the passenger door. "If you stay with me, you'll die a little every day."
Just then, several cars pulled up to the house and parked next to Lynda's car.
Theta Emon stepped out of one vehicle and hauled out a young woman.
"Alpha, we brought the woman like you requested."
