Alpha's Twins Chapter 280
Natalia's POV
"Natalia, why don't you have lunch with us?"
My mother's voice stopped me just as I was about to head out the door.
I turned around to see her walking toward me. She'd been in my brother's room all morning.
"Mom, you know Miss Liana isn't at the coffee shop today. I need to get there and open up. Everyone else is already on their way, and I'm running late since I didn't get up early enough."
"But sweetheart, your health matters too."
"I'll grab something to eat there, Mom. I don't want to let Liana down."
"I'm sure you've never given her any reason to be disappointed. You're such a dedicated worker. I know she's very happy with you."
I hugged my mother and tried to convince her that I really couldn't stay for lunch.
Just as I turned back toward the door, my legs froze in place.
A frown creased my face when I spotted a familiar car pulling up in front of our house.
Since our front door was open, I had a clear view of the man stepping out of his vehicle.
"What is he doing here?" my mother asked, irritation sharp in her voice.
I glanced at her quickly before answering, "Mom, you should go inside. Let me handle whatever he wants."
"But—"
"Mom, please. I don't want him talking to you and Dad again. Just go to your room."
My mother shot one last look at the man, then turned and headed back inside.
I focused my attention outside again, watching him approach our house.
I stood in the doorway, my eyes locked on him.
I'd seen the news today—photos of him kissing his girlfriend, caught by the paparazzi.
I couldn't help but laugh to myself. He'd never actually broken up with that woman. The night Lynda had denied their breakup to me, she'd been absolutely right.
"Natalia."
He said my name the moment he reached me.
"Adrian Miller," I muttered under my breath.
I could see our housekeepers peeking at the door, staring at Adrian with wide eyes. They were probably having a total fangirl moment—they were always drooling over his photos on their phones.
I turned to the staff and said, "Give me some privacy."
My request clearly disappointed them. They nodded reluctantly and stole one more glance at Adrian before leaving the living room.
I turned my attention back to the man I had no desire to see.
"I'm wondering what brings you here, Alpha Adrian."
He studied my face as if trying to figure out whether I was happy to see him. I let out a small laugh at his expression.
"You must be lost and ended up here by mistake."
He took a deep breath, shook his head, and spoke up.
"I came here to tell you that the news isn't true. There's nothing between Lynda and me anymore. Those were old photos, and I didn't kiss her. The whole thing is just fake gossip."
