Harold's words made me frown. I glanced at Max, who seemed completely unfazed.

"Okay, let me check it out."

I hung up and immediately went online to see what Harold was talking about.

I was shocked to find tons of search results for both my name and Adrian's.

I clicked on my name first. My timeline exploded with posts flooding in.

"Alpha Adrian cheating on his girlfriend with his ex-wife?" I muttered, completely confused.

I clicked through more posts. People were actually talking about Adrian dragging me into his office, and some employees were claiming they'd witnessed it. I couldn't believe it.

Why would they even speak up? Weren't they worried about getting fired?

The posts and comments were all about why I'd gone to the company in the first place. Suddenly everyone had an opinion.

Reading through the comments, I felt my anger building and clenched my jaw.

"The Alpha wouldn't cheat. I bet that woman seduced him somehow."

"I wonder how Lynda's handling this right now. She must be devastated."

"The Alpha shouldn't cheat on her. She's such a sweet, lovely girl."

I kept scrolling through the comments, muttering under my breath,

"Sweet and lovely, my ass!"

I was so absorbed in reading all this garbage that I completely forgot Max was sitting across from me, watching.

"You okay?"

I froze, slowly lifting my eyes from the screen to look at him.

I set my phone down and cleared my throat. "Yeah."

The waitress brought our drinks over, setting my cup in front of me.

"Your latte," she said with a smile before walking away.

I wasn't in any mood to smile back. Even though I was staring at my coffee, my mind was still stuck on everything I'd just seen online.

"You came here because of the news, didn't you?" I asked Max, finally focusing on him.

Instead of meeting my eyes, he looked down at his coffee. He took a sip and nodded.

"You're right."

After that, I didn't say another word and just started drinking my coffee. I had no idea what to say.

All I wanted to do was call Adrian and give him hell. How could he be so careless? What kind of employees did he have that would dare leak stuff like this?

I felt a hand touch mine. Looking over, I saw Max had placed his hand on top of mine. I met his eyes.

"Natalia, just breathe."

I sighed. "Everything's becoming so exhausting. I even told him that, but he hates me so much he's going to make my life hell."

He pulled his hand back and said,

"There are rumors going around that Alpha Adrian is chasing after you. Is that true?"
