The moment Adrian stepped into the bedroom, his eyes immediately went to what Natalia was wearing. She had on his white shirt and black sweatpants. A small smile tugged at the corner of his mouth seeing her in his clothes.

He walked over to the bed and stopped beside her, studying her face. She looked more rested now. When he pressed his palm against her forehead, his smile faded—she still had a fever.

After pulling the blanket up around her, he stepped back and headed for the shower. He needed to get out of these soaked clothes before sitting on the bed.

When he emerged from the bathroom, he'd changed into casual clothes—a black t-shirt and matching sweatpants that made him look younger. He ran the towel through his damp hair as he walked back to the bed, tossing it onto the nearby couch before settling on the edge beside Natalia.

He checked her temperature again, watching her for a moment. Maybe a cool, damp cloth on her forehead would help.

Just as he started to stand, he caught her head moving slightly.

He froze, watching her closely.

Reaching out, he cupped her cheek, his thumb brushing gently across her skin.

"How are you feeling?" he asked softly.

Natalia's eyes fluttered open, but she immediately winced and hissed at the sharp pain in her head.

It took several attempts before she could keep her eyes open. She blinked repeatedly until her vision cleared a bit.

At first, everything felt foggy. All she could process was the warm touch against her cheek, which somehow made the fever more bearable.

But when she realized who was sitting there, she jerked upright, trying to sit up while pushing him away.

"Adrian? What are you doing here?" she mumbled, struggling to make sense of what was happening.

Feeling awful, she pressed her hand to her forehead. The blanket slipped down to her waist, and the sudden chill made her whole body shiver.

Adrian stepped back and stood up. "Easy, take it easy."

"What are you doing here?" she asked again.

She tried to swing her legs out of bed, but Adrian caught her hands, stopping her.

"Adrian, let me go."

"You need to rest. You can't go anywhere like this."

She shook her head, irritation flaring through the fog of her fever. She felt terrible.

"Just leave."

"I can't do that."

"Adrian, I need to go home."

"I'll call your family."

"No, don't do that. My kids are at home," she mumbled weakly.

She could feel her strength draining away.

Adrian was about to refuse again when his gaze dropped to her chest and he went completely still.

The shirt had shifted, revealing her cleavage slightly.

But that wasn't what caught his attention.

It was the claw marks across her breasts that made him freeze.
