Alpha's Twins Chapter 19

6 min 30.7K views

When Natalia's eyes fluttered open, her mother was right there beside her, perched in the chair next to the hospital bed.

Natalia's gaze swept around the room, searching desperately for her babies.

"Mom, where are my babies?" Her voice came out raspy and broken.

She tried to push herself up, but a sharp pain shot through her abdomen, forcing out a pained moan.

"Easy, honey. Don't try to sit up. You've got stitches."

Natalia bit down hard on her lower lip, the pain evident as she looked at her mother with frightened eyes.

"W-Where are they?"

Just then, her father and Jason walked into the room. Natalia's eyes immediately dropped to their hands.

Relief flooded through her when she finally saw her babies.

Alpha Martin and Jason approached the bed and gently placed the infants beside her.

Luna Jade smiled warmly at her daughter. "Your babies are perfect, sweetheart."

Natalia studied her children's faces intently. The heavy weight that had been crushing her chest finally lifted as she took them in.

"My babies," she whispered, pressing soft kisses to each tiny forehead before drawing them closer to her chest.

She had never felt joy like this in her entire life.

Natalia held her newborn twins close and closed her eyes. Tears slipped down her cheeks.

"Hey, don't cry," Jason said softly.

Natalia glanced at her brother and nodded, then turned her attention back to her children.

They were twins. Natalia couldn't stop staring at their beautiful eyes. The babies seemed to gaze back at her as if they somehow knew she was their mother.

"They look just like their father," Natalia murmured.

Alpha Martin stepped closer and took his daughter's hand. Luna Jade and Jason moved to hold the babies while Alpha Martin sat on the edge of the hospital bed.

Natalia studied her father's expression carefully. "What's wrong, Dad? Aren't you happy? These are your grandchildren."

"You're right. They do look like their father," Alpha Martin replied.

Natalia looked away, but his next words caught her completely off guard.

"My men tried to contact him while you were in surgery."

Natalia's hand went rigid. She slowly turned back to face her father.

"W-What?"

Alpha Martin squeezed her hand gently. "During these past eight months you've been staying with us, I've watched how you've been living. I decided to make one last attempt to reach out to the father of these babies—the man you still love."

Natalia couldn't find her voice. That familiar spark of hope began to flicker in her chest.

What if Adrian would accept her and the babies this time? She could forget about the divorce papers. Maybe they could start over.

But Jason's next words crushed that hope instantly.

"Want to know what happened next, Dad? Tell her. Tell her that when that bastard heard her name, he said he didn't want to discuss her. He doesn't give a damn if she lives or dies."

The words hit Natalia like a physical blow. How much more pain could she take? Why couldn't she forget him after everything he'd put her through? Why was she still hoping to return to an ex-husband who wished her dead?

"Jason," Alpha Martin shot his son a warning glare. Jason lowered his head.

Alpha Martin turned back to his daughter. He was a powerful Alpha who had built his pack from nothing. He loved his daughter deeply—the daughter he'd finally gotten back after all these years. He couldn't stand watching her suffer like this. That's why he'd wanted to speak with Adrian in the first place.

"Dad, why did you do that? You didn't need to," Natalia said through her tears.

Seeing her daughter cry brought tears to Luna Jade's eyes as well. They were all worried about Natalia's future. She looked so fragile, so alone.

"If you want that man, I'll go to him and beg on your behalf," Alpha Martin told her.

Natalia's eyes went wide.

"DAD!"

"MARTIN!"

Luna Jade and Jason both exclaimed simultaneously.

Natalia shook her head frantically. "No, Dad. Please, don't say that. You're a proud Alpha, and I won't let you lose your dignity for me. Not for anyone. I don't love that man anymore."

Alpha Martin gripped her hand firmly. This wasn't easy for him either, but he couldn't bear to lose his daughter again.

"He doesn't know about the babies. Let me call him—"

"No, Dad. I swear I'll forget him. Don't let him know about my children. They're mine alone. I'll find happiness in my life. I have you, Mom, and Jason. I'll live with dignity. I'll never think about him again. I promise."

She made the decision to bury her feelings for him forever.

The next day,

The doctors were stunned when they discovered that all of Natalia's stitches had completely healed.

They couldn't believe their eyes.

Natalia didn't have a wolf to help with healing. And even ordinary wolves couldn't heal this fast.

So how had Natalia done it?

Natalia was just as surprised.

As time went on, Natalia found happiness living with her babies and her family.

One night,

Natalia felt an overwhelming urge to go into the forest. She had no idea why, but something felt different inside her.

"What's happening to me?" she asked herself as she walked alone through the woods.

She didn't expect an answer from within.

"Shift."

Her legs froze at the sound of her wolf's voice—the first time she'd ever heard it.

She couldn't believe she actually had a wolf.

Pain exploded through every bone in her body. She screamed in agony, feeling like her entire body was on fire, like her bones were shattering.

Within minutes, a massive black wolf stood on the grass beneath the moonlight.

She howled for the first time. She felt complete now. She wasn't wolfless anymore.

"You were never wolfless. You're a blessing. You'll be the greatest healer any male wolf could want. You'll be the cure for every wound," her wolf, Nancy, told her.

"I don't want anyone in my life now. I'm happy on my own. I don't want to be anyone's cure," Natalia replied.

...

END OF FLASHBACK

"No," Natalia said firmly, pushing away the memories.

"I don't have any feelings left for that heartless man," she told Eric.

Eric didn't ask any more questions and left her room. He knew Natalia saw him only as a friend.

But he had feelings for her. Natalia was the only one who didn't know.

He really hoped she could be with him instead of Adrian.

The next day,

A photo of Adrian and Natalia was sent to every member of the Crystal Blood Pack.

In the picture, they appeared very close together. It was taken at last night's party when Adrian had dragged Natalia to a private room. But from the angle it was shot, it looked like Natalia was the one pulling Adrian toward her.

All the Crystal Blood Pack members started blaming Natalia, since they expected Lynda to be their future Luna.

When Natalia saw the photo, she was shocked. Across all social media platforms, pack members were attacking her, criticizing her, and blaming her for something that wasn't her fault.

Suddenly, Natalia received a text from Lynda. She frowned as she read the message.

"My first gift to you."
