Alpha's Twins Chapter 80
Adrian's POV
After leaving that party pissed off, I slid into my car.
"Drive," I snapped at my driver.
He didn't waste a second getting us moving.
My phone started buzzing. Patrick's name flashed on the screen.
I let it ring and stared out the window, trying to get my head straight.
*How the hell do her father and brother get off warning me? What about their precious daughter's wild behavior?* My hands clenched into fists.
Back on that terrace when Natalia casually told me I should marry Lynda—I couldn't believe it. She acted like she couldn't care less.
She talked about it so easily, like I was some random guy she'd never met.
So why did seeing her alone tonight get under my skin?
Why did I even give a damn?
I needed to stop caring about her. Let her live her life with those kids and whoever their father was.
My phone kept ringing. Stopped. Started again. This time it was Lynda.
I powered the thing off. I wasn't talking to anyone right now.
"Alpha, where to?" my driver asked.
"I don't care. Just drive," I muttered.
Natalia's face popped into my head—that moment when she said she was useless to me.
Hadn't I called her that because she'd trapped me in that marriage?
I ran my hands through my hair, frustrated as hell.
*From day one, this woman played me. First the marriage. Then pretending to love me. When she couldn't control herself, she ran off to someone else's bed. After that, she divorced me and disappeared with the kids. Now her family acts like I'm the villain?*
I squeezed my eyes shut, but I couldn't shake this restless feeling. I had no clue what was wrong with me, but I felt like crap.
No one had ever messed with my head like this.
When my driver's phone started ringing, I shot him a death glare. He swallowed hard, catching my eye in the rearview mirror, and reached to decline the call.
But when he saw who it was, he spoke up.
"It's Beta Patrick."
I wanted to tell him to hang up, but he answered before I could stop him.
"Beta Patrick? Yes, the Alpha's with me."
My driver pulled over and turned around, holding out his phone.
"Alpha, Beta Patrick wants to talk to you."
I stared at him without taking it. He got scared real quick and realized he'd screwed up.
He was about to tell Patrick I wouldn't talk, but I grabbed the phone and ended the call.
"Drive. And keep your eyes on the road, not your phone."
He nodded and got us moving again.
Patrick called back immediately. I answered with an attitude.
"What?"
"Adrian, where are you? You okay?"
"What am I, five years old?"
"No, but you looked ready to kill someone when you left that party. You ditched me and Lynda."
"Take her back to Crystal Blood Pack."
"Where are you? Aren't you coming with us?"
I looked at the road and realized my driver had taken my "anywhere" comment seriously. We were heading in the opposite direction from home.
"I'll be back later."
Patrick was quiet for a moment. "Take care of yourself, man. Don't let Alpha Martin get to you. He's your ex-father-in-law—of course he's pissed. I bet he didn't like hearing his daughter got divorced either."
I rolled my eyes. "I wasn't the one who signed those papers first. That was his daughter. She's no saint—she's got kids with someone else!"
My yelling made my driver jump and swerve. I glared at him until he focused on driving.
"Chill, Adrian. Where are you? Tell me and I'll come meet you. I can't let you stay alone when you're this angry."
"Go back. I'll come home when I'm ready."
I hung up and tossed the phone onto the passenger seat.
"Where exactly are we going?" I asked my driver.
"A-Alpha, you said anywhere, so I thought maybe you'd want to stay at a hotel tonight."
"Fine."
I leaned back and closed my eyes, just wanting to clear my head.
*I don't feel anything for that woman. Since she wants to move on—which she already has—I won't bother her anymore.*
When my driver brought me to the nicest hotel in Blue Blood Pack territory, I got a room.
But all night, my mind wouldn't stop thinking about Natalia. She wouldn't leave my head for even a second.
The next morning, I decided to head back to my pack. After checking out, I told my driver to take me home to Crystal Blood Pack.
He programmed the GPS and started driving.
While scrolling through my phone, I saw Natalia's pictures in the Blue Blood Pack news headlines.
I clicked on the article and found tons of photos, some from last night.
That black backless dress really showed off her perfect body.
I forced myself to look away, trying to think about anything else.
That's when I glanced out the window and saw something that made my blood run cold.
"STOP THE CAR!"
My driver slammed the brakes.
"What happened, Alpha?" he asked, shocked.
I didn't answer—just jumped out of the car.
I ran toward the little girl who was crying in the middle of the road.
Cars were driving around her while she looked around with those innocent eyes. I was so furious I wanted to smash every single vehicle.
How could they not stop to help her?
As soon as I reached her, she looked up at me with wide eyes and hugged my legs like she was scared.
I scooped her up and asked, "Aria? What are you doing here?"
