Alpha's Twins Chapter 122
"Miss, the Alpha's asking you to come down for dinner."
I heard my maid's voice through the door as she knocked.
"I don't want to," I called back without getting up.
"I'm sorry, but Aria and Noah said they won't eat unless you do."
I sighed and opened the door. The maid stepped back, startled when I appeared so suddenly.
"Where are they?"
"In the dining room with the Alpha."
I nodded and headed downstairs.
When I walked into the dining room, I saw my twins were already eating with their uncle.
"That maid lied to me," I muttered.
"She didn't lie. I told her to get you," Jason said, looking up at me.
I sat down near his chair. Aria and Noah both stared at me.
"Mommy, are you upset?" Noah asked.
I shook my head and started eating. I wasn't in the mood to talk.
My head felt foggy, and I just felt awful today.
I knew it was because of what Adrian had said and done to me. The anger was eating me alive, and I had nowhere to let it out.
"Everything okay?" Jason asked.
"Mmm."
"Are you mad at me?" His voice was gentle.
I stopped and looked at him. "No, Jason. I just don't feel good."
He reached over and felt my forehead. "Do you have a fever?"
"No, your temperature's fine. So what's wrong with my little sister?"
I could hear the worry in his voice. When I looked at him, I saw the concern in his eyes.
"I'm fine, Jason. I just need some fresh air."
"Then go to the forest and get some fresh air. It'll help."
I froze. "The forest?"
He nodded and went back to eating.
"Is Mommy going alone? Uncle Eric isn't here," Noah said.
I looked at him and saw the worry on his face. He was always protective of me.
"Don't worry. No one can hurt your mommy here. This is our pack," Jason reassured him. Then he looked at me and added quietly,
"And if anyone tries, they'll die for it."
I stared at him, understanding exactly what he meant. I looked away and focused on finishing my food.
Aria stayed quiet during dinner because I'd scolded her yesterday for going to see Adrian. I told her to stay away from him and not talk to him if he tried to approach her.
"Good night," I said to my twins and brother after we finished eating.
"I can send someone with you if you want. Eric's busy with tomorrow's party preparations," Jason said as we watched the kids head to their room.
"Jason, Eric isn't my bodyguard. I didn't like what you told people about us. It's going to ruin my friendship with Eric."
He turned and stared at me for a moment.
"I want you to be happy, Natalia."
"I am happy. I don't need anyone right now. Since you've already done what you wanted to do about Adrian, he'll probably never come here again for business. And I'll never go there, even if someone dies. Stop worrying about me, okay?"
Jason went completely quiet. I turned and walked toward the front door.
"I'll talk to Eric then. I won't bring this up again," I heard him say behind me.
Without turning around, I replied,
"Don't bother. I'll talk to Eric myself."
I finally made it out of the pack house and walked toward the forest.
When I entered the forest, the cold breeze hit my body, sending chills down my spine.
But I didn't stop. I kept walking, looking around as I went.
After walking for what felt like forever, I turned around and realized I'd come pretty far from the pack house.
I turned back and started heading home. I wouldn't get lost here—this was my pack. I knew every way out of this forest.
Taking a few deep breaths, I looked up at the moon hanging in the middle of the sky. Clouds and trees blocked most of it, so I couldn't see it clearly.
I was walking when I suddenly stopped, hearing something crunching behind me.
I listened carefully, trying to figure out where the sounds were coming from.
When the footsteps got close, I spun around.
I saw two men I didn't recognize. I frowned at them.
"Who are you?"
They looked me up and down with hungry eyes.
My eyebrows shot up when I realized what they were.
"Rogues!"
How did they get into the forest? The Blue Blood Pack's border guards were ruthless. Rogues almost never got through.
They smirked and started walking toward me.
"The forest at midnight is beautiful, isn't it? What's a pretty thing like you doing out here? You must be homeless. Though your clothes say otherwise. Maybe you're some alpha's side piece," one of them said.
I stepped back, watching them. "Stay away from me."
The other one laughed. They were both young guys. I could see the lust burning in their eyes.
They reminded me of the rogues I had to escape from when I left the Crystal Blood Pack.
I turned and ran in a different direction. I could hear their footsteps chasing me.
"Don't run! You won't be able to run once we shift!"
I ignored their shouts and kept running. I didn't want to think about my past anymore.
My legs froze when I had to stop at a lake. The water sparkled under the moonlight.
"You're out of places to run. Who's going to save you now?"
"Look at that body. I can't wait to take her from behind."
I heard their disgusting words behind me. With nowhere to go, I looked up at the moon.
"Don't waste our time. Come here," one of them said, walking up behind me.
The other joined him, and they both came up on either side of me.
"Don't worry, we won't kill you, but we'll use you every day. We won't waste such beauty—we'll enjoy it daily."
They started laughing, their eyes scanning me from both sides.
I stayed quiet, looking at the moon. I slowly lowered my head to look at the lake, seeing my reflection clearly in the water.
"Why are you so quiet?" The man on my left asked, confused.
I took a deep breath and shook my head.
"Nothing, just looking at my reflection. It's been a while since I shifted," I murmured, which caught them off guard.
They probably expected me to scream in fear or something.
They looked at each other and bent down to look at the water.
But the moment they saw my reflection—showing my wolf—their eyes went wide with terror.
Their bodies started shaking as one of them spoke in a trembling voice.
"A b-black wolf with blue eyes!"
