Alpha's Twins Chapter 69
**Natalia's POV**
My family was freaking out about my condition. That's why they hadn't left my side since I got back to the pack.
The twins were terrified when they saw all my bandages. They'd never seen their mom hurt this badly before.
Just like Harold said, it took me a full week to get back on my feet. That week was hell. But with my family's help, I pulled through.
"I can't figure out why your body suddenly revealed all these scars. It's like your wolf just stopped hiding them," our pack's old doctor told me.
I went to see him after I'd recovered. My parents insisted, saying he was someone we could trust.
He wasn't just any ordinary wolf—he was a hybrid with wizard blood. The guy had answers for everything.
"So if her wolf wanted to, she could reveal every scar her body's been hiding all these years?" my brother Jason asked.
We'd both come to see the old guy. Right now we were sitting on some black mat while he sat across from us.
"No, that's not it. I think the accident caught her off guard. Fear of death shocked her system and she lost her strength." The man answered him.
"Really? So how'd she get her strength back?" Jason pressed.
"Her mate's presence. That can ease any fear she has."
When he said that, I remembered how my wolf felt when she saw Adrian. The relief when she realized her mate had come to save her.
Fate had trapped me like a rat chasing cheese. The second I stepped foot in Adrian's pack, boom—there he was. My mate. Why the hell did it have to be him?
"She doesn't have a mate. So that's useless. Give her another way to stay strong. She's powerful. I don't want her going through anything like this again."
The old man shook his head. "She has something no one else does. A very special ability to hide her past and hunt for her future. When she was born, I told your parents she'd be someone everyone would search for. Since childhood, her wounds healed and left invisible scars—which you can see, Alpha. You've had that ability since you were a little boy. It's the bond between you siblings."
I turned to look at Jason, who was staring at the old man with a blank expression. His words reminded me of that day in the forest when Jason found me—he really had seen scars that had been invisible for years.
I grabbed Jason's hand. He glanced down and patted it with his other hand, like he was promising to do something about the scar on my right hand.
"Fix the scar on her hand," Jason told the old man.
The guy looked closely at my scar and shook his head. My heart sank.
"I'm not some fortune teller who can predict your past or future. But with what ability I have, I can tell you this much—that scar is crucial. It's there to remind you of your past over and over. It was invisible all these years, but you never forgot it. Now it's visible to keep reminding you what you did back then."
Jason's face darkened. He didn't like what he was hearing. "Are you saying she committed some sin and has to carry this scar forever because of it?"
The old man chuckled at Jason's question. "I can see the Alpha's family is very protective of their lost princess. But fate has its own plans, Alpha. Sometimes we can't have what we want. And sometimes..." He paused, looking straight at me. "What we try to get rid of comes back to us as destiny."
"Stop talking in riddles, Qadir." Jason snapped, clearly getting pissed that he couldn't understand what the guy was getting at.
"Alpha, your sister understood my words. She can give you the answer," the old man said with a polite smile.
I told Jason we should leave because I wasn't feeling right in there. Something about the place felt off, like the air itself didn't agree with me.
When we left, Jason helped me into his car before getting in himself.
"What the hell was he talking about?" he asked me.
I was just as confused. How was I supposed to answer him? Why did that old man tell him I understood?
Did he mean I wanted to get rid of Adrian, but the mate bond came to me as destiny?
Nobody knew about the mate bond between Adrian and me. There was a reason I was keeping it secret. If my parents found out, they'd try to set me up with someone else and pressure me to marry him to escape the bond.
I didn't want to get married. After what love had given me in return, I was too scared to even think about another man.
I couldn't answer Jason, and he didn't push me either.
After a silent ride back to the pack house, Jason told our parents everything Qadir had said.
Eric looked at me, trying to figure out what was going on. I just shook my head and didn't explain anything.
"Natalia," Dad said.
"Yes, Dad?" I looked at him.
He was quiet for a moment, then said, "I think it's time for the world to know who you are."
