Alpha's Twins Chapter 284

3 min 30.7K views

Alpha Martin's eyes went wide. Then everything around him seemed to fade into darkness. A chill of unease washed over him as he stared at the enigmatic figure before him—Alpha Adrian.

There was no way this man could actually love someone. A guy who only knew how to control packs with ice-cold detachment could never truly love anyone.

Martin couldn't shake the memory of how Natalia had to spend her days in complete isolation. He'd never forget the state Jason found her in, alone in those woods.

"Alpha Adrian, you're this powerful leader with multiple packs under your command. All I'm asking is that you let my daughter go."

His words made Adrian let out a low growl. He could speak gently with Natalia, but her father was a different story.

His entire energy shifted as he stepped toward the older man. Despite everything, Martin still carried himself with the strength and presence of someone who'd once led a pack just a few years back.

"I don't think you heard me clearly. I said I love your daughter."

His voice carried a clear warning.

Alpha Martin met his gaze without flinching.

"Look, I'm pretty much powerless right now. As you can see, I've got nothing left. My pack belongs to you now. So I have absolutely nothing to offer you to stay out of my daughter's life."

Adrian's glare intensified. "Why do you keep talking about me leaving her? Don't you get it—she's my mate. You think you can just fight destiny?"

Alpha Martin let out a shaky breath. He was standing near the couches, and when he stepped back, he lost his balance and dropped onto the couch behind him.

Adrian moved toward him and asked, "You alright?"

Alpha Martin looked genuinely surprised. The man who wouldn't think twice about taking someone out was actually asking if he was okay.

Adrian closed his eyes and took a moment to collect himself.

He settled onto the couch across from Martin. "Look, I just need you to understand that Max Harrison isn't right for her."

Alpha Martin coughed a bit. Adrian reached for a glass sitting on the coffee table between the couches.

He filled it with water and handed it over.

"Normally, you'd be the one offering me a drink. But whatever—you're her father. I'll let it slide this time."

Alpha Martin drank the water and set the glass back down.

"Alpha, my daughter's tough enough to handle herself. I'm not the type to tell her what to do. If she thinks that guy's no good for her, she knows how to walk away—just like she did years ago."

Adrian felt something twist in his chest. He looked away from Alpha Martin.

After a long stretch of silence, Alpha Martin got up from the couch. Adrian watched as he walked over to a bookshelf.

Martin pulled out an old book and slipped out a photo from between its pages. He came back to Adrian and held out the picture.

Adrian frowned as he looked at it. But that frown vanished almost immediately.

His eyes went wide with shock at what he saw in the photo.
