After getting dressed, I headed out of my room and into the hallway.

I couldn't deny it—Adrian had given us a house that was just as impressive as the one we'd lived in before. When his gamma first told us we'd be moving here, I figured he'd picked out some basic two-bedroom place.

But the day we arrived? I was completely floored. We had a whole staff of maids and servants. Three cars sat parked outside, ready for us to use whenever. Delta Julian even showed up one day with a bank card, telling me it was mine for life.

I turned it down. I didn't want luxury—I wanted my kids back. That day, Julian said something that still makes me cringe.

I can still hear his exact words: "Natalia, you're one lucky woman. Not every woman gets what you have."

Even after a whole month, I still have no clue what he meant by that. So I've given up trying to figure it out.

The only thing that actually makes me happy these days is seeing my children through video calls.

As I walked toward Jason's room, I noticed the maids huddled together, giggling over something on their phones. I glanced at their screen and couldn't help but roll my eyes—they were practically drooling over photos of their precious Alpha Adrian that someone had posted online.

*Alpha Adrian! Why do all women fall for the bad boys? Can't they see all the decent guys out there?* I thought, walking right past them.

They spotted me and quickly hid their phones.

I ignored them and went straight to Jason's bedroom.

The moment I stepped inside, the sound of crying hit me. My mother was sobbing again. My jaw tightened as I looked at my brother, who'd been lying there motionless for a whole month.

Harold was handling his treatment, but he'd made it crystal clear that Jason probably wouldn't make it. He'd tried everything but couldn't find a cure for the poison.

Still, I wasn't giving up. I'd been doing everything I could to reach Doctor Max Harrison, but I couldn't get through to him. Word was he'd left his pack for some reason.

When my mother saw me, her tear-filled eyes lit up with that familiar hope—like she thought I might have good news this time. It broke my heart.

Without saying a word, I turned around and quietly left the room.

I pulled my phone out of my bag and tried Max's number again.

Still unreachable.

As I stepped outside, I glanced at the two cars that had been sitting there untouched all month. My father only used one car when he went back to my old pack to check on Eric, who was also in pretty bad shape. I was trying to find a cure for him too.

I called a taxi and headed to my destination. When we arrived, I got out and looked up at the place with a small smile.

"Moon Lovers."

The coffee shop where I'd been working as a waitress for the past month.

When I walked in, the owner greeted me with her usual warm smile. She was a sweet lady.
