Alpha's Twins Chapter 117

I spun around to face him, my frown deepening as I tried to process what this kid was getting at.

"What did you just say?"

He just stared at me, not saying a word. I couldn't figure out what was going through this little guy's head. Why was he acting so hostile toward me? Did he know his mom used to be married to me?

Just as I was about to ask him about it, he suddenly bolted in the direction Natalia had taken Aria.

I let out a frustrated sigh. I had no clue what was happening here.

"Alpha."

I heard my delta's voice and turned back toward the door where he was standing.

"Let's go."

I walked out of the pack house without looking back.

The moment I stepped outside, my bodyguards rushed over and opened my car door. I slid into the back seat and told my driver to take me to the same hotel I'd stayed at during my last visit.

I glanced over at my beta, who was sitting there looking pretty miserable.

"That woman told me I shouldn't have talked to you like that, but I disagree. You needed to be put in your place for constantly interrupting me," I said, anger edging my voice.

Even though he wasn't looking at me, he rolled his eyes. I shot him a look. "Did you just roll your eyes at me?"

He turned to face me and nodded slightly. "Yeah, I did."

I scoffed. I didn't really mind his attitude—after all, he was my best friend.

That woman was right, though. I shouldn't have spoken to him so coldly in front of everyone else.

But I was furious with Natalia in that moment. I couldn't understand how she could accept another man when she already had a mate.

"Adrian, are you sure you know what you're doing? This alliance could seriously hurt your business in multiple ways. Yet you want to partner with this pack. Why? Just because of her?" Patrick spoke calmly.

I closed my eyes and leaned back against the seat. When I shut my eyes, all I could see was a pair of piercing blue eyes staring at me with predatory intensity.

"I need to find that wolf and kill him," I muttered.

"Who are you talking about? Are you still having that same nightmare?"

"Patrick, track down that wolf. I want to know who he is, what pack he's from—everything."

"No one's seen the wolf you're describing. I've asked around. They say it's just your imagination. No one's ever heard of an Alpha with blue eyes."

I rubbed my forehead and opened my eyes. "Then figure out how to change Alpha Jason's mind."

Patrick leaned closer and whispered, "How? By convincing him to let his sister get back together with you?"

I glared at him, and he started laughing.

"See? That's exactly why I called you out earlier. You deserved it," I told him.

He smirked at me. "I never thought I'd see the day when Alpha Adrian would be so head-over-heels in love that he'd be willing to accept another man's kids just to get his ex-wife back."

I had nothing to say to that. He was absolutely right.

I wanted Natalia back by my side. Hell, that's the only reason I came here.

I wanted to stay in the pack house so I could be close to her. This alliance mattered to me, even if it was a losing deal. I needed to keep an eye on her.

She was my mate. How could I just let her go?

"I think we should wait for the weddi—"

"Can you just shut up?"

"Adrian, Alpha Jason isn't any better than us. He's a bold guy who'll do whatever it takes. Since he's being so stubborn about this, maybe..." He trailed off—he didn't need to finish.

After that, we rode in complete silence. My mind was spinning with thoughts.

My team spent the entire day working on proposals for what I could offer the Blue Blood Pack to convince their Alpha to give me the alliance.

The next day, I got ready for the meeting. According to the official announcement, the pack meeting was scheduled at the pack house. So my team and I headed over there, just like the other Alphas.

When I arrived, I saw several other Alphas who immediately greeted me politely.

"Alpha Adrian, we don't stand a chance at getting this alliance with you here," one Alpha said with a laugh.

He was right. Who would turn down an alliance with the Crystal Blood Pack for anyone else? Being allied with my pack meant security—if another pack attacked them, we'd help them win the war. I'd set up this new arrangement specifically for this pack.

When the Blue Blood Pack's Gamma came to greet us, he gestured for us to follow him.

As I walked toward the meeting hall, I spotted a woman coming down the stairs.

She was wearing a long gray dress and looked absolutely radiant, like a flower in full bloom.

"Stop staring at her. Everyone's watching. Have you forgotten about that news story you leaked last time? Their suspicions will turn into certainty," Beta Patrick whispered to me.

I looked around and noticed the other Alphas glancing between me and Natalia.

With a smirk, I looked back at Natalia and replied to Patrick, "I want them to believe it."

"But what about Lynda?" he asked.

I looked away from Natalia. Lynda was definitely a problem. I'd been thinking about her for weeks and had finally come to a decision.

She was a sweet, gentle woman who wanted my love. But I couldn't give her the happiness she deserved because I didn't love her, and she wasn't my mate.

So I whispered to Patrick, having made up my mind, "Today, after I secure this alliance, I'll talk to her. I'll give her everything she needs for a good life as my way of thanking her for saving me, and then I'll break up with her."
