Alpha's Twins Chapter 215
"You're trying to humiliate me, aren't you?"
Her accusation made him step back. He looked away and reached for her other hand.
Without meeting her eyes, he quietly healed each of her fingers. He could feel her staring at him—that piercing, eagle-like intensity boring right through him.
When he finished, he finally looked up at her.
"I was trying to make it clear that I didn't want you in that meeting room."
She barely listened, examining her fingers instead. They looked so clean and polished now. Part of her still wanted to grab a tissue and wipe them off.
"Stop lying, Alpha. You told your guy to give me directions to that room. Otherwise, why didn't he tell me to wait?"
"No matter what I do, you're never going to believe me, are you?"
"There's nothing to believe, Alpha. I know you too well."
His eyes went dark. Suddenly, he wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her against him.
She hadn't realized how much distance was between them until he eliminated it completely.
Her body pressed against his chest.
"You claim you know me so well. Then tell me what I want."
She pushed her hands against his chest, trying to create space between them.
Fury made her eyes turn ice-cold, but her wolf felt the complete opposite.
All her wolf wanted was to be with their mate.
"Mate. Mate. Mate."
That was all her wolf kept chanting inside her head.
Natalia clenched her jaw in frustration. Fate was so damn cruel. She'd almost managed to forget this man was her mate.
Why him?
Out of all the men in the world, why did the Moon Goddess have to choose him? She'd gotten her wolf back after giving birth to her kids. By then, she was already divorced, just starting to rebuild her life with her babies and her family.
Couldn't the Moon Goddess have changed her mind?
"Stay away from me. I hate this—being close to you. I just hate you," she snapped.
He leaned closer to her face. "Why so angry, woman?"
She wanted to laugh bitterly. What choice had he left her except to hate him?
One hand held her waist while the other gripped her hand, preventing her from pushing him away too hard.
She stared down at the hand restraining hers, an idea forming.
Adrian closed his eyes as his nose brushed her cheek, her scent surrounding him completely.
Natalia grabbed his hand and bit down hard.
The sudden sharp pain made him jerk away from her.
She slid down from the desk and said, "Go use your healing tricks on your fiancée, not on me. I don't need you in my life anymore."
With that, she bolted for the door. She half-expected him to stop her, which was exactly why she rushed out of the office as fast as she could.
