Alpha's Twins Chapter 241
Max said he'd take me to his favorite restaurant in the pack.
Throughout the entire drive, he kept glancing my way. I could feel his eyes on me. He looked excited.
I felt my cheeks warm as he tried to find things to talk about. I couldn't deny it anymore—I really liked this man. Dr. Max had this appeal that drew me in. He was someone I'd heard so much about, known for his kindness and dedication to helping others, always working on new treatments for rare diseases.
Now it was time to get to know him as just Max Harrison.
I knew letting a man into my life wouldn't be easy. But I was determined to move forward.
I promised myself I'd never look back again. If I was giving this man a chance, I wouldn't do to him what my past had done to me.
The car pulled up in front of a five-star restaurant. Max's driver got out and opened his door. I climbed out on my own without waiting for anyone to help me.
I wasn't a princess anymore. I didn't need that kind of treatment. I'd gotten used to living like everyone else.
Max walked over to me, and we headed into the restaurant together.
As we approached the entrance, a group of young guys was coming out. They looked like rich kids—probably sons of wealthy businessmen, judging by how carelessly they strutted around.
I was about to walk inside when one of them bumped into me with his shoulder. I started to stumble, but Max caught me in his arms.
"Oops, sorry, sweetheart," the guy said with a laugh, walking past me. His friends were cracking up too.
"Don't you have any manners? Should I call your father? Professor Williamson, perhaps?"
The kid's eyes went wide as he looked at Max.
"Sorry, sir—Oh shit, Dr. Max!"
He immediately hung his head and mumbled, "Sorry, sir. Please don't tell my dad."
The other guys looked just as shocked when they recognized Max.
Max ignored them and walked into the restaurant, his hand still on my shoulder.
I glanced up at him. He wasn't just handsome—he was magnetic. Calm but commanding.
The way he'd protected me on the road and just now made something flutter in my chest.
I bit my lower lip and looked down, not saying anything.
I wasn't used to being with a man like this. I'd never really dated anyone, so I had no clue how relationships were supposed to work. The marriage I'd tried so hard to make work had completely broken me, and I'd never been able to give anyone else a chance since.
Max walked to the host stand and asked for a table.
When we got to our spot, Max pulled out my chair. I smiled at him as I sat down.
"Thank you."
These small, thoughtful gestures were doing things to my heart.
We ordered and talked about my brother's health. We ended up staying at the restaurant for quite a while.
When I checked my watch, I nearly jumped.
"Oh no! I have to get back to the coffee shop."
He nodded. "I'll drive you."
I couldn't say no. "Okay."
When we pulled up to Moon Lovers coffee shop, I thanked him and was about to get out.
But his voice stopped me.
"Natalia."
I turned back to him. "Yes?"
"I got an invitation to your kids' birthday party. I'd like you to come with me. Would you be my date?"
