Alpha's Twins Chapter 188
Adrian's POV
I froze the moment those words left her mouth. Nothing could have prepared me for the way she said I wasn't in her heart anymore.
My jaw clenched tight with anger.
How could she just say that?
If she claimed she used to love me, then how did she just forget? Why did her heart change so completely?
Her eyes burned with pure hatred. It sent a sharp pain straight through my chest.
Why the hell was I feeling like this?
"Keep your sorry and let me live my life. I'm sick of you. How many times do I have to tell you that?" she snapped, pressing her palm against her forehead.
I stayed silent, letting her get it all out.
"I'm trying to stay calm with you. Can't you see that? After everything we went through in that war, you still think this is who I really am? I'm holding back my anger toward you. Because you're suddenly the head Alpha now, and I can't cross that line. I don't want to kill you, and I don't want you to kill me. I want to live for my family, for my brother, and for my kids."
My eyes never left her face. Every word was like a knife twisting deeper.
She didn't even hesitate when she mentioned killing me.
She hated me more than she'd ever loved me. I couldn't accept that.
"Adrian, let's make a deal, okay?"
"What kind of deal?" I asked, frowning.
She paused for a moment, then said, "I know I can't give my children the life you can. But if you feel even a little bit sorry for how you treated me all those years—for completely misunderstanding me—please give my children back."
I couldn't believe what I was hearing.
"After keeping my kids from me for almost six years, you still think you can just ask for them back?"
She looked shocked by my response. Did she actually think I'd hurt her?
Had I made her afraid of me?
I almost laughed at the irony. This woman was literally the only person in the world who wasn't scared of me.
"How can you be so cruel, Adrian? I'm their mother."
"And I'm their father."
She took a deep breath and nodded, like she was working something out in her head.
"Fine. Raise them like royalty. They deserve everything you can give them. I won't interfere. But..."
"But what?"
"Don't force my children to call another woman their mother."
I raised an eyebrow. "How do you know about that?"
She looked stunned, like she'd said too much.
She turned away, avoiding my gaze.
"I don't need to hear it from anyone. I know you well enough."
So she'd found out about Lynda taking care of Aria and Noah. That explained everything.
"I'll take ca—"
I was cut off when my driver jumped out of the car and rushed over, holding a bag. I realized it was Natalia's purse.
He handed it to her and said, "Miss, your phone's been ringing nonstop."
