Alpha's Twins Chapter 67

5 min 30.7K views

Adrian's mood was shot for the entire day. After his conversation with Natalia, he didn't bother going back to the hospital.

He'd made up his mind—he was done caring about that woman. He hated himself for whatever the hell he'd felt for her last night.

"Alpha, we lost the deal. Some of our people betrayed us," his secretary announced, looking like he wanted to disappear into the floor.

Adrian hurled the file across the room and shot to his feet, making his secretary jump back.

His secretary stumbled backward, head down.

"How the hell did we lose this project? Who had the balls to betray me?" Adrian's voice was ice-cold.

The stress was written all over his face. Anyone else would assume it was about losing the business deal. But the real reason ran much deeper.

"WHO?" he roared.

His secretary nearly dropped to his knees. "The eastern alphas wanted to send their products to the Blue Blood Pack."

Adrian's eyebrows shot up. "What did you just say? Which pack?" His teeth were clenched so tight his jaw ached.

"B-Blue Blood Pack."

Adrian's growl shook the entire building.

At the sound, Beta Patric came running into his office. The growl was loud enough to terrify everyone on the floor. Word spread fast—Alpha had lost it, and nobody was safe.

"What's going on?" Patric asked, eyeing the scattered papers on the floor.

The office told the whole story. Adrian looked ready to kill someone. His secretary was shaking like a leaf.

"What happened?" Patric asked again, this time directing the question to the secretary.

After hearing the explanation, Patric's eyes went wide while Adrian's rage hit a whole new level.

"So that's why Alpha Jason showed up at my pack. I thought he was..." Adrian muttered through gritted teeth.

Jason had sweet-talked some of his pack members—businessmen who should have known better—into signing contracts with him instead. Adrian had planned to award those contracts to a different pack entirely.

Anyone who crossed him was going to pay. But Jason? Jason was going to pay extra.

The business betrayal was bad enough, but what really had Adrian's blood boiling was how Jason had gotten close to Natalia. Those photos of them together kept flashing through his mind, driving him absolutely insane.

Suddenly, he had this overwhelming urge to find Natalia and give her a piece of his mind.

He grabbed his suit jacket from the chair and headed for the door.

"Where are you going?" Patric called after him.

"Pack hospital," Adrian shot back, already halfway out the door.

The entire company went dead silent. Everyone knew that crossing Alpha Adrian right now was a death sentence.

Adrian made it to the hospital in minutes—the place was practically next door to his office. People bowed as they recognized him, but he didn't spare them a glance as he headed straight for Natalia's room.

When he got there, some other woman was lying in the bed.

He frowned and turned to the nurse.

The nurse kept her head down. "Alpha."

"Where's Natalia?"

Still not looking up, the nurse mumbled in a shaky voice, "If you're asking about the previous patient, she left around noon."

"What? Left where?" Confusion replaced anger for a split second.

"I don't know, Alpha. Someone came and handled her discharge paperwork, then they left together."

Adrian stormed out and headed straight for Doctor Harold's office.

He slammed the door open and marched over to Harold, who was hunched over paperwork at his desk.

Before Harold could say a word, Adrian grabbed him by the collar and yanked him to his feet.

"Alpha? What's wrong?" Harold looked completely blindsided. He had no clue what had set off this powerhouse.

"Who came to discharge her?" Adrian cut straight to the chase. His jaw was locked, his fist tight around Harold's collar.

"Alpha, I don't know."

Adrian released the collar and moved his hand to Harold's throat.

"Right, you don't know. But you two were playing florist, passing flowers back and forth."

Harold looked away. "Alpha, you've got it wrong. We're just friends."

"Friends? Got it. Now tell me—where is she?"

"She left the pack."

Adrian's grip tightened around Harold's throat, cutting off his air supply.

"Who gave you permission to let her walk out of this hospital?"

Harold squeezed his eyes shut, fighting for breath.

"I-I'm sorry, Alpha. But hospital policy says we can't stop a patient if someone close to them wants to take them home."

"Who was it?"

"I don't know the guy."

Adrian forced himself to calm down. He let go of Harold's throat and stepped back.

"If I find out you lied to me about anything, I'll kill you."

After delivering his warning, Adrian walked out.

The moment Adrian was gone, Harold started coughing violently. He'd been holding it in the entire time. He grabbed a glass of water and downed the whole thing. Alpha Adrian had come this close to actually killing him.

Meanwhile, Adrian was ready to leave the hospital entirely, but as he stepped into the elevator, he decided to check on his father.

Walking toward his father's room, his mind kept circling back to who Natalia had left with. Both Harold and the nurse said someone had come for her. But who? He hadn't even thought to ask if it was a man or woman.

When he opened his father's door, he found his mother sitting beside his unconscious father.

She turned and looked surprised to see him.

"Adrian."

"How's he doing?" Adrian asked, walking over to the couch near the bed.

He was doing his best to keep it together in front of his mother.

"He's responding well to treatment."

Adrian nodded and glanced at his father.

His mother studied him for a moment, then asked, "Why didn't you tell me about Natalia? She was here in this hospital, and I had no idea. Good thing I ran into her today when she was leaving, or I never would have known."

Adrian's attention snapped to his mother. "You saw her leaving?"

"Yeah. She was with Alpha Jason. I was surprised to see Jason with her, but from the way he was holding her, they looked like they'd known each other forever."
