Alpha's Twins Chapter 73

5 min 30.7K views

I spent the whole week going back and forth about whether to show up to this party.

Part of me wanted to just blow off the invitation, but every time I tried to talk myself out of it, Natalia's face would pop into my head.

My dad was all for me going. He thought it was fantastic news that Alpha Martin's daughter was actually alive and doing well for herself, just like her brother.

And honestly? I was curious about the woman who'd been gunning for my pack. I couldn't stand her brother, and I had a feeling he was the one pushing her to come after me in business.

"What if we run into her at this thing?" my wolf asked, practically panting at the thought of Natalia.

I rolled my eyes at him. Who would've thought such a powerful wolf could be so whipped over his mate? The guy was pathetic, constantly bugging me to track her down.

"Why are you so obsessed with her? She's got no character. You deserve better," I muttered while pulling on a black jacket over my white shirt.

I was getting ready to head out to Blue Blood Pack territory. I'd planned to bring Patric along, but my mother talked me into taking Lynda instead. Apparently, Lynda had been crying to her about how I never took her anywhere.

I left my place and walked to my car. Patric was already sitting shotgun next to my driver.

He waved when he saw me. I gave him a nod. My driver jumped out and opened the back door for me. I slid into the backseat and lit up a cigarette as we pulled away, heading to Lynda's place to pick her up.

"Didn't think you'd actually go through with this," Patric said, staring out at the road ahead.

"Neither did I."

He turned around to look at me. "So what changed your mind?"

I didn't have an answer for that. What had changed my mind? Hell if I knew.

We pulled up to the house I'd bought for Lynda. She was already outside waiting, like she'd been watching for my car.

When she climbed into the backseat next to me, she immediately latched onto my arm. "How do I look?"

I glanced her over. She was wearing this long, fire-engine red dress with no sleeves, showing off her arms. My eyes caught on her scar for a second. "Fine."

That one word lit her up like Christmas morning. She giggled in that way she thought was sexy and whispered, "I have to look good. I am Alpha Adrian's fiancée, after all."

I ignored that last part and turned to stare out the window.

The car started moving toward our destination. We'd had to leave my territory early in the morning since it was going to be a long drive.

By the time we reached Blue Blood Pack, it was already evening.

Lynda had been checking herself in a compact mirror she'd pulled from her purse for the last hour. She asked if we could stop at a hotel first. When I asked why, she said her makeup looked terrible and she needed to fix it.

I rolled my eyes. Women and their makeup rituals.

I told my driver to take her to a five-star hotel and get her a room.

After dropping Lynda off, we headed to the venue where the party was happening.

When the car stopped at the entrance, I could see other luxury vehicles parked outside.

I recognized most of them - cars belonging to other pack Alphas. Looked like quite a few had shown up for this thing. I knew exactly why they were here. They all wanted to meet Alpha Jason's sister. Some of them were probably already planning marriage proposals, hoping to score an alliance.

My driver opened my door and bowed.

I got out and looked over the decorations on the building.

Patric came up beside me and gestured toward the entrance. "Alpha, shall we?"

Back to playing the proper beta.

The moment I walked into the hall, the entire place went quiet. Every head turned in my direction.

I guess they hadn't expected me to show up.

"Alpha Adrian's here!"

After a moment, people started whispering about me. I ignored them and kept walking.

I scanned the room, checking out the other guests. I could see several Alphas who looked nervous as hell when they spotted me, like they thought I might attack them or their packs right here and now.

Sure, I'd won plenty of wars over the past few years, but that didn't mean I was going to start something at another pack's party and break pack law.

The Blue Blood Pack's delta walked over with a polite smile. "Alpha Adrian, great to see you here. Please, enjoy the party. Alpha Jason will be joining us soon."

I nodded. He moved on to greet another Alpha.

I was looking around for Alpha Martin, wanting to congratulate him on getting his daughter back. I was still shocked to learn she'd never actually died - just been lost as a kid.

Suddenly, my wolf started going crazy inside my head. Before I could figure out what was happening, my eyes locked onto a woman in a black backless dress.

She was absolutely stunning. Drop-dead gorgeous in a way that made every other woman in the room fade into the background. Her red lips and perfect skin made that black dress look incredible on her.

I couldn't look away. Just seeing her made my heart race.

No matter how angry I was supposed to be at her, I was completely lost in her beauty. She'd somehow gotten even more beautiful in the past few months.

I heard Patric's voice, but I couldn't tear my eyes away from her.

"Natalia!"
