Alpha's Twins Chapter 158

3 min 30.7K views

After getting back to the pack house, I ended up staying there all day.

Just like their mom, my kids were stubborn as hell. All they wanted was to go back to her. My mother was bending over backwards trying to connect with them. I was relieved when they finally started talking to her.

At least Mom was looking after them.

It was afternoon, and I was holed up in the study working on my laptop. I'd moved into the pack house to be closer to the kids. Sure, they weren't speaking to me, but I figured their anger would fade eventually.

A knock on the door interrupted my typing.

"Come in," I called out.

A maid entered and bowed her head. "Alpha, your father wants to see you."

"Where is he?"

"In the living room with your mother."

"Are Noah and Aria with them?"

She nodded. "Yes, Alpha."

Since my parents had stepped down as head Alpha and Luna, the staff now called them the old master and old mistress.

"Tell them I'll be right there."

I closed the laptop and headed out.

When I walked into the living room, I found my parents on the couches with my kids.

"Did you two eat lunch?" I asked, settling into a single chair.

Aria kept her head down but nodded at me. At least she acknowledged the question, even if she wouldn't actually talk to me.

Meanwhile, Noah was giving me the cold shoulder. How could my own son be so damn stubborn?

Was I that arrogant when I was his age?

He definitely got that from his mother. Just like those blue eyes of his. I remembered during the war when his twin's eyes had glowed a completely different color.

Noah stood up, grabbed Aria's hand, and started pulling her toward the door.

"Where are you going?" Mom asked.

"Garden," Noah said curtly. Mom's face lit up just because he'd bothered to answer her.

I watched them walk away until they disappeared toward the garden.

"Little smart-ass," I muttered under my breath.

"Just like you were."

I looked over at Dad.

"Am I a smart-ass?" I asked him.

Mom burst out laughing when Dad nodded.

I frowned at him. He wasn't taking this seriously at all.

"Karma's a bitch, Adrian. Remember how you used to talk to me? Your son's exactly like you. He's gonna give you everything you gave me."

Dad was practically grinning like he'd won the lottery.

I rolled my eyes. Where was he gonna find another son as well-behaved as I'd been? Had I ever given him grief or made his life difficult? The man had no appreciation whatsoever.

"All jokes aside, Adrian."

My attention snapped back to Dad as his tone shifted. He went quiet for a moment, like he was choosing his words carefully.

"Those kids are still really young. They need their mother."

I looked away. "No, they don't."

"Adrian, since you two have children together, maybe that's a sign you should get back together. Why don't you—"

Suddenly, Lynda's voice echoed through the entire pack house.

"Adrian! What the hell are people telling me? You have kids?!"
