Alpha's Twins Chapter 144

I made my way back to where my family was staying. Given everything that had happened, I honestly had no clue what my next move should be. I felt completely lost, like I was stuck in place with nowhere to go.

From what Adrian had said, I didn't get the vibe that he'd actually hurt my kids.

But why did he want to keep them away from me? This had to be his way of getting back at me.

If he kicked my family out of this pack, where the hell would we even go? And what about Jason? Who was going to take care of him?

I was walking past one of the rooms when I spotted a door that wasn't quite closed all the way. Curiosity got the better of me, so I decided to peek inside.

I could hear Gamma Benjamin groaning like he was in pain. I pushed the door open wider and saw him standing in front of a mirror, dabbing at his neck with a cotton ball.

I recognized that wound immediately. I was the one who'd bitten his neck during the fight.

God, I felt awful knowing I'd misunderstood him and hurt him like that. Everything he'd done was just him trying to protect his Alpha from me.

He reminded me of our old Gamma, the one who betrayed us. Our Gamma could've been like Benjamin. If he'd shown even a tiny bit of loyalty, we wouldn't be stuck in this mess right now.

"You!"

Benjamin spotted me in the mirror and spun around.

The second I realized he wasn't wearing a shirt, I looked away. He walked over to his bed, grabbed his shirt, and pulled it on.

He winced a little when the collar brushed against his neck while he was buttoning it up.

I sighed and stepped into the room.

"Hey, it's okay. Just relax," I said quietly.

He stopped what he was doing and stared at me. "What are you doing here?"

"Sit down."

"What?" He looked confused.

"I said sit down. Let me take care of that wound."

My offer clearly caught him off guard. "What? Why would you want to do that?"

I walked over to his closet, grabbed a first-aid kit, and headed back toward him.

He saw the kit and sat down on the bed. I could tell the wound was really bothering him, which was probably why he didn't argue.

I stopped in front of him and gently tilted his chin with my finger so I could get a better look at the wound.

"I had no idea the Alpha Wolf was his ex-wife," he mumbled, staring at the wall.

I opened the kit and pulled out a small knife. "Even if you had known, you still would've come after me."

He didn't say anything to that. But when he saw the knife in my hand, he frowned.

"What are you planning to do with that knife? You trying to kill me?"

I shook my head and sliced my palm open. His eyes went wide.

"What the hell!"

I totally got his reaction. Anyone would've freaked out seeing that. So I explained, "My claws and teeth are venomous. That wound isn't going to heal anytime soon because the only thing that can cure it is my blood."
