Alpha's Twins Chapter 33
"Miss, we're here."
I heard knocking and someone calling out to me.
When I opened my eyes, bright light hit them immediately, making me squeeze them shut again. I sat up and rubbed my eyes.
Slowly opening them with a yawn, I turned toward the window and was startled to see the driver standing outside.
I rolled down the window and looked at him. He bowed slightly and said, "Miss, we've arrived."
Frowning, I glanced out the other window. The car was parked outside Crystal Blood Pack's hospital.
"What the hell," I muttered under my breath.
I hadn't expected my driver to take me straight to the hospital. I'd planned to check into a hotel first, change clothes, freshen up, then visit Alpha Lucas.
But here we were at the pack hospital.
I looked at the driver, who seemed nervous seeing my confused expression.
"Miss, is everything alright?"
"I was thinking about stopping at a hotel first," I said.
"Sorry, Miss. Alpha Jason told me to bring you straight to the hospital. He said you didn't pack any clothes anyway, so there's no point staying overnight. He wants me to drive you back the moment you leave the hospital."
I rubbed my forehead and sighed.
My brother didn't trust Adrian at all. He wanted the driver to get me back to Blue Blood Pack as quickly as possible.
I understood his feelings completely. If I were in his position, I wouldn't let him come to this pack again either.
"Okay."
I pulled out my phone and checked my hair to see if it looked messy. I finger-combed it a bit since it had gotten tangled from forgetting to close the window last night and falling asleep in the cold air.
The driver helped me open the door. As I stepped out, I told him, "I'll call you when I'm ready to go back."
While speaking to the driver, I glanced quickly at the pack hospital.
So many memories were tied to this place, pulling me back to the past.
How could I forget the day I left the pack? Before leaving the hospital that day, I made Doctor Harold promise to keep my secret safe.
"Doctor Harold," I whispered, thinking about him.
What a loyal man he was! He'd kept my secret all this time and never told anyone.
I was eager to see him again. I wanted to thank him for saving my life.
I looked around for the flower shop that used to be nearby. Most people bought flowers there to give to their loved ones in the hospital.
I thought about getting a bouquet for Alpha Lucas.
After walking for a while, I asked a man, "Excuse me?"
"Yeah?"
"Could you tell me where the flower shop is?"
"It moved over that way a while back."
"Oh, thank you."
I headed down the road to the left. I didn't bother asking my driver to take me there.
When I found the flower shop, I noticed it had beautiful decorations. I picked out two bouquets—one for Alpha Lucas and another for Doctor Harold.
Suddenly, my eyes landed on white stargazer lilies.
Memories came flooding back.
After our wedding, I learned a lot about Adrian from his mother. She told me his favorite flower was the white stargazer. The very next day, I gave him a bouquet of beautiful white stargazers. But the moment I handed it to him, he threw it in the trash right in front of me. He said everything turned to ash at my touch.
It was the very first gift I'd given him after we got married. From that day on, he never stopped making me miserable. He constantly insulted me and always questioned my motives.
"Ma'am." The shop worker called out, snapping me out of my thoughts.
"Huh?"
"Here are your bouquets," she said, handing them to me.
I thanked her, paid the bill, and left the shop.
As soon as I got to the hospital, I went straight to the reception desk.
"Is Doctor Harold available right now?"
The receptionist gave me a look that seemed almost insulting. When she noticed the bouquets I was carrying, she raised her eyebrows.
"Does Doctor Harold know you?" she asked.
"Yeah, I'm an old friend of his."
"Oh, let me check."
She looked at the schedule and told me Harold was currently in surgery. However, she said he'd be free in a few hours.
I thanked her and asked, "I'd like to see Alpha Lucas. Could you tell me his room number?"
She frowned at me, picked up the phone, and started dialing. She brought it to her ear.
"Who are you calling?" I asked.
She replied with a rude tone, "No one can see him without our Alpha's permission. I'm calling Alpha Adrian."
