Alpha's Twins Chapter 139

I couldn't wrap my head around what my brother meant about not trusting anyone.

There was only one person I didn't trust. But Jason himself had handed our pack over to that very person.

I turned to look at Jason. *Why did you do that, brother?* I asked silently.

I knew he couldn't answer. I needed to know what he'd discovered, what he'd wanted to tell me. I needed the truth.

I kept telling myself he'd wake up soon, and we'd get back to the good times.

Everyone stayed quiet. Nobody had anything to say about what had happened.

Dad sighed and muttered, "Maybe he wanted to protect us from Alpha Leo's attack. That's why he gave in."

I just listened. I didn't have any opinion on this. The fact was that Adrian was now the head Alpha of our pack. That was the only thing spinning through my mind.

I slowly looked over at my children. I'd already lost my pack. I couldn't lose my babies too.

"Mom? Dad? What am I supposed to do now? Adrian knows the truth. He won't just sit on this. He's going to do something."

Mom came over and pulled me into a hug. Tears filled my eyes as I held her tight.

"Why didn't you two escape through the back door? If you had, Adrian never would've found out." I said to them.

I wasn't blaming them. But that door was there to save themselves. What if one of them had gotten killed in the fighting?

Mom pulled back from the hug and looked at me. "Natalia, Alpha Leo's wolves attacked our pack house from the back door."

I was stunned. "What? How did they know about it?"

Dad walked over and put his hand on my head. I looked up at him with teary eyes.

"We tried to keep your children safe. I even told your mother to run. But right then, they broke in through the back door. It was like someone tipped them off."

I was confused. "But Dad, only we knew about that door. Besides the Alpha's family and his officials, nobody else knew it existed."

"Maybe Alpha Leo scoped out the pack house when he came here for the pack meeting," our theta suggested.

That was possible. I slumped down on the bed, feeling hopeless. I had no idea how things would play out from here.

"But Natalia, why did you come to the fight? Didn't Jason tell you to stay inside?" Eric asked me.

I turned to him. "Why did Jason tell the guards not to give me any information?"

"It was for your safety."

"He shouldn't have done that. I could've helped him in the fight. Thank God our Gamma let me know what was happening."

"Gamma?" Eric muttered, frowning at me.

I raised my eyebrows questioningly. "Yeah. He mind-linked me and told me Jason's life was in danger."

Eric's expression changed when he heard that. "Why would he tell you that?"

I didn't understand his question. "He told me I should get Dad to join the fight to save Jason. That's why I went out there."

"But if he wanted me on the battlefield, why didn't he contact me directly?" Dad asked.

He was right. He could've reached out to Dad directly. Why did he link with me instead?

Something clicked in my mind and I shot up from the bed, shocked.

I immediately turned to Eric and asked, "Where is our Gamma? I didn't see him during the fight. Why didn't he try to save his Alpha when Alpha Leo was attacking him?"
