On her way out, Natalia bumped into someone. She looked up and saw it was Beta Patrick.

"Where are you rushing off to, Miss Natalia?" he asked, glancing toward Adrian's office.

Natalia cleared her throat and composed herself. "Tell your Alpha that I won't be coming here to deliver coffee anymore."

Patrick knew about Adrian's conditions for the order. He shook his head. "It's my Alpha's direct order. You can't refuse it," he replied professionally.

She clenched her fists, then noticed her nails weren't causing her any pain anymore. She relaxed her hands and muttered, "You and your Alpha are exactly the same."

Patrick looked taken aback. "Please don't judge my Alpha too harshly. I swear he told his assistant to bring you to his office, not the conference room. You're misunderstanding him."

She rolled her eyes. "Don't make promises for that man. You'll regret it."

She walked past him toward the elevator. Patrick turned to watch her go.

Natalia stopped and turned back to face him. "Tell your Alpha to stay away from me. Because even if I can't kill him, I can damn sure hurt someone he cares about."

Patrick watched Natalia leave the building, then looked back toward Adrian's office.

He noticed the other employees had stopped working, all staring at Natalia until she disappeared into the elevator.

"Alright, everyone. Back to work."

They all nodded and returned to their desks. It didn't take them long to figure out who Natalia was—Alpha Adrian's ex-wife.

Patrick went straight into Adrian's office without knocking.

He found a torn, bloodstained shirt on the floor. He immediately scanned the room until his eyes landed on the shirtless man sitting on the couch, smoking.

Patrick closed the door behind him and walked over.

Something caught his attention, and he couldn't help but chuckle. "Looks like something went down in here. You look pretty beat up. Let me guess—someone clawed your neck when you tried to get handsy with her," Patrick said, settling onto the opposite couch.

Adrian looked at him. Patrick expected his best friend to get angry, but instead, Adrian smirked.

He raised his left hand and sniffed it. Patrick noticed a bite mark there.

"I was trying to play with a little wolf. Turns out she's more of a wild beast," Adrian muttered, his smirk never fading.

Patrick laughed in disbelief. "Little wolf? Are you kidding me, Adrian? She's an Alpha wolf. One of the rarest and most powerful wolves we've ever encountered. She's massive. How can you call her 'little'?"

Adrian gave him a look like he'd asked the stupidest question ever. "To everyone else, she's massive. But to me, she's..."

He trailed off, lost in thought.

"I've never seen anything like you. First, you thought your kids belonged to another man, but you were still willing to accept them for her sake, even though it went against pack law."

Adrian ignored the comment. He had wanted to accept Natalia's children, even if they weren't his, because he wanted her.

Patrick shook his head in amazement. "Now you look happy about the wounds she's giving you. Alpha Adrian, have you lost your damn mind? What's going through your head? Can you clue me in so I know what I'm dealing with?"

Adrian exhaled smoke and replied, "Spread some breaking news throughout the Crystal Blood Pack."

Patrick sat up straight. "What kind of news?"

Adrian took one last drag and dropped the cigarette on the floor, crushing it under his shoe. "Today, Alpha Adrian's ex-wife visited him at his company. All the employees saw him pull her into his office. They were alone for over an hour..."

Adrian paused, a smug grin tugging at the corner of his mouth. "It's obvious that Alpha Adrian is cheating on his girlfriend. He's going after his ex-wife."
