Alpha's Twins Chapter 225

3 min 30.7K views

I watched Max's car disappear into the distance, feeling completely lost. What the hell was wrong with him? He was acting like a total child. What could he possibly see in a divorced woman like me? The guy could snap his fingers and have any young girl he wanted.

My heart ached thinking about my brother. His life was literally in my hands now.

I flagged down a taxi and climbed in, giving the driver my address.

When I got home, I spotted a car parked outside. A smile crept across my face—someone was back.

I paid the driver and rushed inside. The moment I walked through the door, I saw Dad sitting on the couch with Mom.

I practically ran to him. He stood up and pulled me into his arms.

"There's my princess. How are you holding up?"

I got all emotional and started crying. Dad was my rock, my constant support—always there when I needed him. I wiped my eyes and managed a smile.

"Dad, I missed you so much."

He gently stroked my hair. "I missed you too, sweetheart."

We settled onto the couches while Mom told the staff to set the table for dinner.

I turned to Dad, curious about what he'd seen back home.

"I was blown away—everything's back to normal in the Blue Blood Pack. Adrian's actually been giving financial support to all the families who lost sons in the war."

My jaw dropped. "But that's got to be..."

"Yeah, almost all our fighters died. He must be spending a fortune on the pack. I have to admit, he's turning out to be one hell of an Alpha."

I noticed Dad let out this huge sigh of relief. As the former Alpha, he'd always loved his people. When the pack was falling apart, it tore him up inside seeing his members suffer.

Now that he'd seen them bouncing back with his own eyes, he finally had some peace.

"I think that's exactly why Jason handed the pack over to him. He knew Adrian was the only one who could pull it off."

I looked away. Dad didn't want to admit it, but Adrian was actually doing an amazing job.

"How's Eric doing, Dad?"

"I brought him with me. I'm getting too old to keep making trips back and forth to that pack."

I shot to my feet. "He's here?"

Mom nodded. "He's upstairs. Go see him."

I practically flew upstairs to find Eric. It had been months since I'd seen him. He was my best friend, the one who got me through my darkest times.

When I thought I had nowhere left to turn, there was Eric. He always had answers, always knew what to do. He gave me the kind of advice my brother would if he were awake.

I asked one of the maids which room Eric was in, then headed straight there.

I opened the door and froze when I saw the figure lying on the bed.

He was covered with a blanket, staring up at the ceiling.

I couldn't help but whisper, "Eric."
