Alpha's Twins Chapter 60
Adrian didn't waste a second catching his breath. He bolted from his car without hesitation.
Adrenaline drove him forward. His heartbeat drowned out the sound of raindrops—only the rain witnessed this nightmare unfolding.
He barely noticed the slick asphalt beneath his feet as he rushed toward Natalia's car.
Everything around him blurred. His racing heart made reality feel distant and unreal.
The closer he got, the more his chest tightened with dread, fear clawing at him from the inside.
Natalia's car sat eerily silent in the rain, and Adrian desperately needed to know what he'd find inside.
"Natalia, can you hear me?" he called out.
His voice cut through her darkness like a lifeline thrown to someone drowning.
Inside the wreckage, Natalia's emotions spun wildly.
Her fragile world had nearly shattered completely, but suddenly she felt a moment of calm.
Adrian's voice—clear and steady—seemed to drift from somewhere far away, a place she was struggling to reach.
Pain had numbed her body and clouded her mind, but his voice felt like a promise that she'd be okay.
Everything had been turned upside down. Her head felt like a war zone, caught between reality and flashes of the crash.
Sharp fragments of memory kept stabbing at her—each one a brutal reminder of what just happened.
How had this happened? Just moments ago, she'd been thinking about the weather and old memories. Everything had been fine.
Then came the screech of tires, the explosion of glass, the sickening sensation of spinning out of control—it had almost killed her.
His voice slowly pulled her back. Then his face appeared through the shattered window, etched with worry and desperation.
When Natalia's eyes found his, she felt a jolt of recognition. He looked so familiar, yet somehow unreal—like seeing a ghost.
When their eyes met, she saw all the fear and worry he was trying to hide.
"Natalia? Stay with me. Don't close your eyes," he shouted through the broken window.
He reached for her hand. The moment their fingers touched, an electric current shot between them—the mate bond.
She'd almost forgotten they were still bonded.
Adrian let out a growl when he saw blood covering her hand. The way it shook told him everything about her pain.
His wolf fought to take control, desperate to hold and protect his mate. He'd waited so long to find her. He couldn't watch her die now. Every instinct screamed at him to rip the car door off and get her out.
Adrian ignored the glass cutting his hands as he reached through the broken window toward the door handle.
The moment he got the door open, Natalia's body slumped sideways, and he caught her immediately.
In her eyes, he saw everything she'd just endured—her vulnerability and her strength.
"You're going to be okay," he said, his voice steady despite everything.
Blood streamed down her face from a head wound.
He'd never felt anything like this before—the terror of almost losing her hit him like a physical blow.
He gently tapped her cheek and called her name again.
"Natalia."
Her eyes had started to drift closed, but his voice pulled her back.
She suddenly realized what had happened. When she saw Adrian heading toward his car, she shook her head weakly. His car was just as destroyed—the front end completely crushed from the impact.
Adrian wasn't thinking clearly. He knew she needed a hospital, but his car wouldn't start either.
"I-I don't want to go. S-Save my driver. H-He's still in the car," Natalia mumbled, shaking her head.
Adrian ignored her protests and opened his car door. Smoke poured out, confirming what he already knew—it was totaled. His heart sank.
His phone started ringing. He cursed himself for throwing it earlier in anger. Still holding Natalia, he fumbled for it and saw Patric's name.
"Adria—"
Adrian cut him off immediately.
"Patric, get to Moon Valley Road. Now."
"Moon Valley? I'm close by. What happened?"
Adrian glanced toward the car where Natalia's driver was trapped.
"Get an ambulance and get here fast," he barked.
There was no time to explain. He hung up and waited for his beta to arrive.
He looked down at Natalia, who was breathing heavily.
"I-I can walk. My l-legs are fine," she said through gritted teeth.
But he wasn't letting go. He held her tighter, refusing to put her down.
The rain had finally stopped. Some of the blood had washed away from her skin.
Suddenly, Adrian's eyes caught something on her hands. A burn scar on her right hand.
His heart started racing as memories flooded back—the girl who had saved him years ago.
He stared at her hand, confusion washing over him.
"Where did you get this scar?"
