Alpha's Twins Chapter 262

**Natalia's POV**

The second I stepped out of the room, Beta Patrick was waiting right outside. He glanced at the door behind me, then looked me over.

This guy was always glued to his Alpha's side.

I gave him a quick nod and walked past him. I couldn't care less about whatever Adrian was cooking up next to make my life miserable.

I'd fight back no matter what.

*Why does he keep trying to get close to me? When we were married, he'd stay out all night just to avoid seeing my face. Is it his wolf pushing him to get near me?*

I remembered his wolf during the war. But would he actually let his wolf take control?

I shook off those thoughts and headed back to the party.

I ran into Delta Julian while searching for my purse, which I'd left somewhere.

Julian held up my bag. "Looking for this?"

"Yeah, thanks so much."

I pulled out my phone and saw a bunch of missed calls from Max.

I bit my lip, annoyed at myself for being so careless. I immediately called Max back to tell him where I was.

"You seem pretty close to the healer."

I heard Delta Julian's comment and looked at him, nodding. "You're right. We've gotten close."

His eyebrows shot up as he looked away and muttered, "The Alpha won't like that."

"Excuse me? What did you say?"

He shook his head. "Nothing."

I smiled at him and was about to head in another direction when a middle-aged couple caught my eye.

I walked over to them. They turned when I approached.

"Natalia, how are you?" Alpha Lucas, Adrian's father, asked.

"I'm fine, Uncle. How's your health?"

"Just fine."

I noticed Adrian's mother didn't look too happy to see me. So I said, "I can tell you're not thrilled I'm here. You didn't even return my calls when my kids were locked up in this pack house. Why not, Aunt?"

Grace looked at me and replied coldly, "Why did you keep my grandchildren hidden from us? Who gave you the right to do that?"

I lowered my head. Truth was, I was the one in the wrong. I shouldn't have kept the kids away from them. But their son was a monster. I was terrified for my children's lives.

"I was scared he'd kill those little kids just because I was the one who gave birth to them."

Grace looked stunned by my words. Lucas, though, just watched me calmly.

"The past is the past. Where have you been lately? You haven't come to see me all month."

I let out a small laugh. "Uncle, I wanted to visit, but I figured Aunt didn't want that. Maybe she doesn't want to see me."

My words were aimed straight at Grace. When Lucas looked at her, she turned away.

I couldn't forget how many times I'd tried to reach her just to see my children. She and her son were both heartless.

Something caught Grace's attention, and her eyes lit up.

"Lynda."

I watched her rush toward Lynda, who had just walked into the party.

I rolled my eyes, thinking, *What the hell is this woman doing at my kids' party?*
