Alpha's Twins Chapter 45
The car pulled into the parking lot of a five-star hotel. As I started to get out, the driver hurried around to open my door.
I thanked him and told him to book himself a room at the hotel too. "Don't worry about the cost," I added, seeing his hesitation. "I'll cover it."
He nodded, and I headed inside, taking in the surroundings.
The Crystal Blood Pack really knew their hospitality business. They owned several five-star hotels like this one throughout their territory. From what I'd heard, a lot of Alphas came here to blow off steam.
I felt eyes on me as I crossed the lobby.
At the front desk, I asked about getting a room.
"What type of room would you prefer, miss? Forest view? Poolside? Penthouse suite, or—"
I cut her off. "Anything's fine. Just make sure it's completely private. I don't want some drunk guy stumbling into my room in the middle of the night."
The receptionist blinked, clearly taken aback. She nodded and started typing. "Of course. I'll just need some information."
I gave her my phone number and pressed my finger to the scanner. She handed me a keycard when she was done.
I took the elevator up to my room.
Once inside, I ran myself a bath.
The hot water felt amazing. I sank back in the tub, eyes closed, head resting against the edge.
Adrian's face flashed in my mind. When he'd asked about my children today, my heart had nearly stopped. What if he figured it out?
My phone rang, jolting me back to reality.
Right—I'd turned off silent mode when Eric asked me to.
I started to get out of the tub quickly and scraped my right hand against the corner.
I winced, rubbing the spot gently as I stood up.
My right arm. The hand that would never let me forget Adrian Miller.
I looked away and wrapped a towel around myself.
Still drying my hair, I walked out of the bathroom. My phone started ringing again.
I rushed to answer it. Jason's name lit up the screen—he'd been calling repeatedly.
Dad must have told him about my situation.
I swiped to answer. "Hello?"
"How could you agree to something so stupid?" Jason's voice boomed through the phone, even though I wasn't on speaker.
"Jason—"
"Don't 'Jason' me. You didn't even think twice before giving in to Alpha Lucas's demands. I can't stand the thought of you being there for one day, and you're planning to stay a whole week?"
"Please, just listen. I already talked to Dad. He understands."
"This is what you always do. Whenever you want to do something I'd never approve of, you run to Dad first and get him on your side before telling me."
"Jason, please don't be angry."
I heard him take several deep breaths.
He was just trying to protect me. Adrian had hurt me before, and Jason didn't want his sister to get hurt again.
"I'm coming to get you. They don't deserve your help."
"Jason, please don't. I don't want our packs becoming enemies. That'll just create more problems. I didn't even bring Eric with me because I wanted to avoid any conflicts. If you show up there, it'll just make everything worse."
I tried everything I could think of to convince him. I knew my brother—if he came here, he'd definitely try to kill Adrian.
"Fine, Natalia. I won't interfere. But I want you to know I'm not happy about this decision."
He hung up, making it clear how upset he was.
I stared at my phone screen for a moment.
"I'm sorry for hurting you, Jason," I whispered.
I wanted to call my kids. I hadn't talked to them all day.
I was about to dial Butler William's number when someone knocked on my door.
I paused and looked toward the sound.
Probably room service.
I went back to the bathroom and quickly threw on the clothes I'd worn all day. Then I walked to the door and opened it.
A young man stood in the hallway. I was surprised to see him.
"Yes?" I asked.
He didn't look like hotel staff or anything.
"Ms. Natalia, Alpha Lucas sent me. I'm Julian Campbell, delta of this pack."
"Hello, Delta Julian. Can I ask why you're here and how you found my room number?"
"We're the Alpha's officials," he said with a small laugh. "Nothing gets past us."
"What about privacy?" I asked, incredulous.
"Since anyone could be up to something, the head Alpha has the right to access anyone's information. Anyone could be a suspect, you know."
I rolled my eyes. Adrian's officials were just like him!
"But you said Uncle Lucas sent you, not your head Alpha."
"True, but I'm still an official of my head Alpha. So finding your room number wasn't exactly difficult."
"Okay, Delta Julian. What can I do for you?"
He smiled and said, "Alpha Lucas wants you to stay at the pack house."
