Alpha's Twins Chapter 207
"WHAT?"
I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Liana quickly squeezed my hand, trying to calm me down.
Every staff member in the place turned to stare when they heard me shout.
I shot them a look. "Eyes on your work, not on me."
They looked stunned. They weren't used to seeing me like this - cold, harsh. I was so pissed at Adrian I could barely think straight.
Sometimes I almost forgot I was an Alpha. But my fury? That reminded me real quick what I was capable of.
I jerked my hand away from Liana and pressed my fingers to my temples, fighting to keep my eyes from shifting color.
I stalked into the break room and dropped onto the little couch we'd squeezed in there.
"I can't believe this shit, Adrian," I muttered under my breath. "You drop this massive order on my boss, then pull this crap? What the hell is wrong with you?"
Liana followed me in, resting her hand on my shoulder. "I thought the Alpha was your friend. The way he swept you out of here yesterday, I figured you two were catching up."
I buried my face in my hands and shook my head. "Liana, there's no 'catching up' with him. Not ever."
"Why not? He's our head Alpha. What could he have possibly done that's so bad you can't even look at him?"
I lifted my head and met her eyes. Then I pulled down my collar, showing her the mark that still hadn't healed.
"That mark you asked me about the other day? He's the one who gave it to me."
Her eyes went wide. She gasped. "Oh my God... Natalia—"
I stood up, and she automatically stepped back.
"Those twins I'm always talking about? They're his kids too. Your precious head Alpha is my ex-husband."
Her jaw dropped. She looked like I'd just told her the world was ending. I could see her hands shaking.
I closed my eyes, trying to get a grip on my rage. I couldn't take this out on people who cared about me just because that bastard was making my life hell.
"God, I'm so sorry," she whispered. "What have I done? I had no idea Alpha Adrian was your ex-husband."
She covered her mouth with both hands. I felt like garbage seeing her blame herself for something that wasn't her fault.
I took her hands in mine, softening my voice. "Hey, I'm the one who should apologize. I shouldn't have snapped at you like that. You didn't deserve it."
She pulled me into a hug, and I could feel her trembling. "I had no clue about any of this. If I'd known, I never would have accepted his offer yesterday."
After a moment, she pulled back. "I'm calling his company right now. We're canceling this order."
She marched out of the break room, and I followed, watching her tell everyone to stop what they were doing.
We'd already made over two hundred cups of coffee. Through the window, I could see the delivery van pulling up to collect the day's batch.
"Liana, wait," I said. "We can't afford to lose this order. What are we supposed to do with all this coffee? It's not like we're gonna have two hundred customers walk through that door the second we open."
I saw her face crumble, and my heart sank. I felt like such an ass.
I couldn't help but hate Adrian even more. This was all his fault. He was turning my life into a nightmare.
I took a deep breath and made my decision.
"Liana, I'll go to the pack company myself."
