Alpha's Twins Chapter 92

Natalia's POV

I couldn't stand listening to Adrian anymore, so I hung up on him.

The second I pulled the phone away from my ear, my legs started shaking. I grabbed the nearest wall for support, fighting to stay upright.

"He tested DNA?"

I could barely wrap my head around it. How was that even possible? How could the results come back negative?

"He's gotta be lying to me. He knows the truth. Now what the hell am I supposed to do?" I muttered to myself like some crazy person, tugging at my hair.

I never saw this coming from Adrian. I thought he'd bought my lies hook, line, and sinker. So what made him think to test DNA?

I left my bedroom and headed straight for the kids' room. When I got there, Noah and Aria were playing together on the floor.

"Noah, sweetie, can you go play with Grandma? I need to talk to your sister about something."

"Mommy, I wanna hear too," Noah said, jumping up and grabbing my hand.

I knelt down and ran my fingers through his hair. "Baby, please just listen to Mommy, okay?"

He must've seen how freaked out I looked because he nodded and left the room, leaving me alone with Aria.

Aria climbed down from the bed and walked over to me.

"Mommy."

I shut the door behind me and scooped her up into my arms.

"Baby, I want to talk about what happened that day. Can you tell Mommy exactly how that man kidnapped you?"

She shook her head firmly. "No, Mommy. I already told you—he didn't kidnap me. He saved me."

"What?" I stared at her, confused. What was she talking about? How did he save her? He obviously kidnapped her to mess with me.

"Mommy, I was in the middle of the street, and he came to save me."

Her words hit me like a truck. I hugged her tight immediately.

My baby was running into traffic? What if something terrible had happened to her?

"Mommy, he's not a bad man. We got ice cream together. He was really nice to me."

The gentle way she talked about him made my chest ache. She had no clue she was talking about her father.

"Aria, did he pull your hair?"

"What? No, Mommy."

I struggled with how to ask her this. I thought for a second, then tried again.

"He has some of your hair. Did you maybe give him your hair?"

I needed to figure this out. Either Adrian was lying about the test results, or he never actually ran the test at all.

Aria tapped her finger on her chin, thinking hard.

Her face lit up like she'd just remembered something.

"Oh! That day, he told me to brush my hair because it looked all messy. I used a brush in the bedroom. I think I left some hair on it."

I couldn't believe it. How could one man be so damn clever?

I set Aria down and told her to keep playing. I promised I'd send Noah back to her soon. She happily ran back to the bed and started playing again.

My mind was spinning out of control. I couldn't think straight. My heart was pounding with pure terror.

I waited for my brother to get back to the pack house, and every second felt like torture.

When Jason finally returned, I asked if we could talk privately.

He was with Eric. Since Eric was his beta and best friend, Jason didn't mind talking in front of him.

"Jason, he ran a DNA test."

The moment those words left my mouth, his eyebrows shot up. "What did you just say? DNA? How?"

"That bastard turned out to be way smarter than I thought. He tricked Aria into brushing her hair and got some strands. Then he left our pack with them."

Jason's jaw clenched tight—I could tell he was pissed about this news.

"But—"

"Eric, get everything ready. If he sets one foot near my pack looking for them, I'm declaring war on the Crystal Blood Pack."

I swallowed hard as he cut me off. I could see pure rage burning in my brother's eyes.

"How'd you find out about this?" Eric asked me.

"He just called me."

"What did he say?"

"He said the results came back negative."

"What?" Both Eric and Jason said at the same time.

I nodded. "That's exactly what he told me."

"Natalia, are those twins really Adrian's kids?" Eric asked, sounding totally confused.

"ERIC!"

Jason exploded and glared at him. "How dare you ask her that? You think my sister is that kind of woman?"

Eric shook his head quickly. "No, no. But how can DNA come back negative when he's the father?"

I looked at their worried faces. "I think he's lying. He knows the truth, or..."

Suddenly, it hit me like lightning. I immediately grabbed my phone since I hadn't left it in my room.

"What are you doing?" Jason asked.

"I think I know someone who could've done this," I said, scrolling through my contacts.

When I found the number I was looking for, I hit call.

It rang twice before someone picked up.

"Hello?"

"Harold?"

"Natalia? Hey, how are you?"

Jason watched me as I cleared my throat. "I'm fine. I'm calling because I need to ask you something."

"Everything okay over there?"

"Do you know that Adrian ran a DNA test?"

Silence. My nerves were going crazy because he wasn't saying anything.

I needed him to tell me he'd changed the results so I could finally breathe again.

"Harold? Did you change the report?"

I waited for his answer while looking nervously between Jason and Eric. I could see they were both desperate to hear what he'd say.

Then Harold finally spoke.

"Yeah, I was the one who changed it."
