Alpha's Twins Chapter 25
I turned my head and spotted a little girl standing there.
"Hi sir, would you mind if we sat here?" she asked politely.
Something about her features struck me as familiar. Curious, I asked, "We? But you're all by yourself."
She shook her head and pointed her tiny finger toward someone. "My brother's over there. Uncle William came with us too."
I didn't bother looking where she pointed, but I was surprised by this kid. She didn't know me from Adam, yet here she was chatting about her family like we were old friends.
Looking at her face stirred up thoughts of the woman who'd been driving me crazy lately. Just thinking about her made my blood boil.
"Why are you even asking me? It's a public area. Sit wherever you want," I muttered irritably.
I glanced back toward Patric's direction, trying to ignore the distraction.
That's when a little boy appeared at my side. "Don't talk to her like that."
His voice carried a clear warning. I turned to look at him.
Pure anger blazed in his eyes.
I was stunned that this tiny kid was staring me down like he was ready to throw hands at any moment.
"Excuse me, little guy?"
"Why were you being mean to her?" the boy demanded.
I looked over at the little girl, who was frantically waving her hands at the boy.
"Noah, he wasn't being mean to me."
"Yes he was, Aria. I heard how he talked to you."
I frowned at the kid. Why was he being such a pain in the ass?
I realized this must be the brother the girl had mentioned earlier. They looked like twins.
That little boy's death glare almost made me laugh. He had no clue who he was messing with.
If his father knew who his son was talking to like this, the man would probably drop dead from fear.
I shook my head and sighed.
"Listen, little bo—"
"Don't call me little. My name is Noah."
"Oh."
I couldn't help but be impressed by his confidence. This kid definitely had alpha blood in him.
A middle-aged man hurried over and apologized. "I'm sorry, young man. They're just kids. Please forgive them."
I studied his appearance. He didn't look like their father—more like a butler or caretaker.
"Noah, this uncle isn't mean. Don't fight with him," the little girl told her brother.
"Aria, let me sit here. You can sit between me and Uncle William," the boy said.
I rolled my eyes at how protective this kid was being. He was basically telling his sister he'd sit next to me so I couldn't hurt her.
"What am I, a kidnapper?" I asked the boy.
The kid looked startled by my question.
The middle-aged man chuckled and gestured for Aria to take a seat. Meanwhile, the boy plopped down right next to me.
We were all stuck waiting since the flights had been delayed.
I mind-linked Patric, and he came back to sit beside me.
He looked shocked to see me sitting with two little kids. I could only roll my eyes in response.
He handed me his phone. "Here's the post everyone's talking about."
I grabbed his phone and looked at the screen. There was Natalia's post from a few hours ago.
Anyone with half a brain could see she was trying to trash Lynda's reputation.
Looking at her post, it was obvious she was throwing Lynda under the bus.
I scoffed at the post, thinking, 'Until last night, you were fine with everything, telling me you didn't want me. Now what? You're posting about our past? Trying to get my attention?'
The kid next to me craned his neck to look at Patric. "Uncle, where are you going?"
I raised an eyebrow. Why was he acting like I was the only one he had beef with?
The way he completely ignored me and struck up a conversation with Patric showed just how fearless this little guy was.
Patric smiled at the boy. "We're heading back to our pack."
The girl named Aria looked at me and asked, "What about you, uncle? Which pack are you going to?"
Most people thought twice before talking to me, but this girl was chatting with me like I was her uncle or something.
These two kids had serious guts. It made me wonder who the hell their parents were.
I wasn't usually one for small talk with random people. But for some reason, I found myself actually wanting to talk to these two.
"The Crystal Blood Pack," I replied.
When the little boy heard that, his mouth dropped open. But he didn't say anything.
"What's your name?" I asked the girl, even though I'd already heard them say their names.
"I'm Aria, and this is my brother Noah."
"Where are you guys headed?"
"We came here to see our mom. We really missed her," Noah answered this time instead of Aria.
Just then, I heard someone calling their names from behind me.
"Noah! Aria!"
That voice... I knew that voice.
I turned around and my eyebrows shot up in surprise. There was a young woman standing there.
I stood up as Noah and Aria rushed toward her.
"MOM!"
She wrapped them in a warm hug. Then her eyes found mine.
I stared at her in complete disbelief, frowning.
"Natalia?"
