She stood there gripping the doorknob, tears streaming down her face. Her hands shook as she pulled out her phone and dialed a number. Whatever the person on the other end told her made all the color drain from her face.

She hurled the phone aside and wiped at her tears roughly. I couldn't look away from how broken she looked. Something twisted in my chest as I fought to keep myself together.

That's when several men approached her. She backed up against the wall as they positioned themselves around the room's entrance. One of them yanked the door open and jerked his head toward the inside, telling her to get in.

A man in his fifties emerged from the room and stood in the doorway.

I heard someone gasp beside me.

Natalia pressed her palms together, pleading with the older man like she was begging him not to make her go in there.

Right there in the hallway, one of the guys grabbed her by the neck and forced a bottle of wine to her lips. She shoved him away, coughing and choking after they made her swallow several gulps.

The men all started laughing at her. The older guy looked her up and down like she was merchandise, said something to his men, then disappeared back into the room, leaving the door wide open.

Natalia shook her head like she'd made some kind of decision. Then she spun around and bolted.

The men's faces went slack with shock—clearly they hadn't expected her to run. Then they took off after her.

She ran as hard as she could until she slammed straight into someone.

My eyes went wide when I saw her crash into me.

I could feel my officers turning to stare at me.

My heart hammered against my ribs as I braced myself to see the truth, to finally know what really happened, to find out that everything I'd believed was a lie.

"Play the video from my angle," I said, my voice rough with anger.

Theta Emon immediately started searching for the footage from the camera on my side.

He hit play as soon as he found it.

I leaned forward, pressing my palms against the glass desktop, and stared hard at the screen.

In the video, the waiter led me to a room, then came out alone. A few minutes later, I stumbled out holding my head. I was sweating, so I started walking while unbuttoning my shirt. I was clearly drugged. It looked like the waiter had slipped something into my drink—probably some kind of aphrodisiac.

Just as I was about to keep walking, Natalia crashed into me. I looked down at her when she lifted her head.

She said something and pointed frantically in some direction. She glanced back over her shoulder, fear written all over her face. Then suddenly, she threw her arms around me and spun me around.

The men ran right past us—they must have thought we were just another couple making out in the hallway.

Natalia watched them go, then looked up at me with tears in her eyes.

When I raised my hand to touch her face, those men came back our way again.

Natalia froze and looked around desperately, trying to find another escape route. But there was nowhere for her to run.

I said something to her, lust clearly visible in my drugged state. She nodded while keeping an eye on the men heading straight for us.

I grabbed her hand and pulled her toward my room, which was right nearby.

I yanked her inside and slammed the door behind us.
