Alpha's Twins Chapter 17
Adrian lost it the moment Natalia said she was with someone else. The thought of her with another man made him completely snap.
Before he could stop himself, his lips crashed into hers—rough, desperate, angry. The kiss was electric, sending shockwaves through both of them.
He kissed her hard, pouring all his rage into it. But the second their lips touched, something shifted. The chaos in his head quieted. This felt right. This was what he'd been missing—this kiss, this closeness, this woman.
He wanted to pull her closer, wrap his arms around her waist, and never let go.
Natalia froze at first, completely caught off guard. When reality hit, fury took over. She shoved him away, breaking the kiss, and slapped him hard across the face.
The slap stunned Adrian. He stumbled back, touching his cheek. Nobody had ever dared hit him before—only his parents had that right, and only because they'd given him life.
He turned to face her, frowning. "Did you just slap me?"
"How dare you kiss me?" she shot back.
Adrian had no answer. Why had he kissed her? Was it because hearing about Eric had driven him crazy? Because he wanted to remind her she was still his?
"You said you were with Eric."
"Yes! And I'll say it a hundred more times if I have to. I'm with him. What's it to you?" Natalia snapped, completely done with this conversation.
The confirmation hit him like a punch to the gut. His mind raced, trying to process what he'd just heard. How had he missed this?
Adrian took a deep breath, forcing himself to stay calm. "Listen, Natalia. Eric Hart isn't good for you."
That set her off. She pointed toward the door. "I don't want to hear it. You need to lea—"
A knock cut her off.
She immediately opened the door. "Eric!"
The moment Eric walked in, Adrian's attention locked on him. Rage flared in his chest. What the hell was this guy doing in Natalia's room at this hour?
Eric looked between them. "What's he doing here, Nat?"
Adrian's jaw clenched. This bastard was calling her "Nat" right in front of him. After everything Natalia had said about their relationship, Adrian wanted to rip Eric's throat out.
Anger, jealousy, and betrayal crashed over him in waves. His hands curled into fists, knuckles going white.
"I was just telling him to leave," Natalia mumbled, looking down. She had no idea how to handle this situation anymore. That kiss had left her completely shaken.
Eric studied Adrian. "What are you doing in a young woman's room, Alpha Adrian?"
Adrian scoffed. "Same question for you, Beta Eric. What are you doing here?"
"Didn't I already answer that?" Natalia said, irritated. "I'm with someone else now. So leave."
"NATALIA!"
Adrian's voice boomed through the room. Eric immediately stepped in front of her, pushing her behind him.
"That's no way to talk to her. Remember, she's not your wife anymore. She's free to date whoever she wants. You have no claim on her."
Adrian moved closer, his voice deadly quiet. "You've got some nerve. I think you're forgetting who you're talking to."
His eyes found Natalia behind Eric.
Eric just laughed and shook his head. "Nobody forgets you, Alpha Adrian. You're the most powerful Alpha around. But that's pack business and wars. Right now, you're just Natalia's ex-husband standing in front of me. Since you know she doesn't want contact with you, stay away. She's got nothing to do with you anymore."
Adrian kept staring at Natalia, even as Eric's words registered. His focus was entirely on her.
"I don't mean to be disrespectful, but if I remember correctly, you have a girlfriend. You're committed to someone else, yet here you are in another woman's room. That doesn't look good, Alpha Adrian."
Adrian's rage was reaching a breaking point. If he stayed much longer, he might actually attack Eric, which would violate pack law. He had to get out of there before he did something stupid.
If Eric called him Natalia's ex-husband one more time, Adrian wasn't sure he could control himself.
During the entire confrontation, Natalia kept her eyes on the floor.
When Adrian finally left, relief washed over her.
Eric turned to her. "Thank you, Eric. You really helped me today."
Eric didn't respond, just kept staring at her.
Natalia walked to her bed and took a sip of water from the glass on her nightstand.
As she was drinking, Eric approached her. "Do you still have feelings for Adrian?"
