Alpha's Twins Chapter 242
Adrian's POV
I was buried in work. The past couple days, I'd actually felt pretty calm – I'd done something that put my mind at ease.
Now I could finally focus on what mattered: my work, the company, pack business.
I was building something massive here, and honestly? I wasn't sure if Noah would be able to handle it all when his time came.
I just shook my head thinking about that kid. He still hated my guts like I wasn't even his father.
At least Aria was talking to me again – that was something. But Noah? That boy had nothing but pure hatred buried deep in his heart, no matter what I did.
Those blue eyes of his flashed through my mind. He got those gorgeous blue eyes from his mother.
I leaned back in my chair and closed my eyes. And there she was again – Natalia's blue eyes haunting me like always. Even for just a second, I couldn't get her out of my head. She was always there, living rent-free in my thoughts.
Made me wonder if she ever thought about me the same way.
I couldn't go to her. Not yet. Not until I found whoever was really behind all the shit that went down back then.
Faith was getting treatment at the pack hospital. I had Harold watching over her. Poor guy was shocked when he saw her condition, kept asking who she was. But I didn't tell him about her family. Didn't want anyone getting all sympathetic and calling her people to come get her.
Harold told me Faith wasn't doing great.
The bullet in her hand came way too close to a major blood vessel connected to her brain – caused some temporary memory loss. But he promised he'd do everything he could to help her get those memories back.
My phone started buzzing with notifications, snapping my eyes open.
I grabbed it and started scrolling through emails and messages, pretty chill until something made me stop dead.
Social media notifications. With Natalia's name all over the headlines.
I clicked on one immediately.
The post loaded and I completely froze.
Photos of Natalia and Doctor Max everywhere – going viral fast. Him hugging her on the street, walking into some restaurant together, both of them laughing and smiling.
I stared at his hand on her. Everything went dark around me, like shadows were swallowing my mind whole.
Then I read the headline.
