Alpha's Twins Chapter 74

"She's here too!" Patric said, nodding toward Natalia.

I couldn't focus on his words—my eyes were glued to Natalia.

She was chatting with some young woman standing next to her. A few guys walked over and shook hands with her. I didn't like the way they were looking at her, but she seemed ice-cold toward them, like she was the CEO and they were just regular employees.

"Oh right, how could I forget Beta Eric? Natalia's his fiancée. That's why she's here."

I heard Patric mutter under his breath. My attention immediately snapped to the guy walking toward Natalia.

"Beta Eric," I whispered.

I couldn't take my eyes off him. He approached Natalia, and they exchanged smiles. She definitely wasn't this warm with those other guys a few minutes ago.

"Adrian!"

Someone shouted my name loud enough to grab everyone's attention at the party.

I turned toward the voice and saw Lynda waving at me.

She had this huge smile plastered on her face as she walked over. Looked like she'd changed clothes—still red, but this dress was way more form-fitting. One sleeve was long, the other completely sleeveless.

I stared at her until she reached me. People were glancing her way, trying to figure out who she was.

Lynda hooked her arm through mine and grinned up at me.

"I'm back," she said.

Turning to Patric, she asked, "What'd I miss?"

Patric glanced at me, shook his head, then walked off toward the bar, leaving me alone with Lynda.

She looked at me curiously. "Why didn't he answer?"

I started to lift my hand to remove hers from my arm, but then I caught sight of Natalia. She was watching me.

Instead of pulling away, I placed my hand over Lynda's and gave it a gentle pat.

I looked away from Natalia and smiled softly at Lynda. "Nothing happened. Pretty boring party, actually."

Lynda's eyes lit up when she felt my hand on hers. She moved closer and whispered in my ear, "Then I'll make sure tonight gets way more interesting after the party."

I honestly couldn't tell if I'd lost all desire or if Lynda was just incredibly needy. She always talked like this, and I used to have to push her away. I wasn't like this before, but for some reason, I couldn't bring myself to do it anymore.

Everyone went quiet again. I frowned, wondering who'd just walked in to make everyone freeze.

Alpha Jason had entered the party. Everyone from his pack bowed—he was the head Alpha of the Blue Blood Pack.

I had to admit, the guy had a commanding presence that could intimidate anyone except me. I knew about his fighting skills from the war. He was definitely the best Alpha for Blue Blood Pack, but if he ever had to control multiple packs, I figured that might be tough for him to handle.

His parents walked in with him. Everyone bowed to the former Alpha and Luna too.

The elderly couple caught my attention. Even though they'd stepped down years ago, they still looked completely capable of attending pack events with that gracious presence of theirs.

I wondered why they'd never approached our pack for any deals. My parents weren't exactly hostile to others. In fact, from what I'd learned, they actually really liked this couple.

Alpha Martin and his wife walked over to some other former royal couples who seemed to be their friends.

Meanwhile, Alpha Jason headed straight for Eric.

Eric hugged him and stepped away from Natalia's side. My eyebrows shot up when I saw Natalia hug Alpha Jason.

The guy kissed the top of her head and said something to her. She giggled like he'd just given her some amazing compliment.

I stared at her, jaw clenched tight.

How dare he kiss her head? How could she laugh with him like that?

I felt Lynda's arm slip away from mine. I glanced at her and found her looking shocked. She was staring in Natalia's direction too.

Lynda cleared her throat when she noticed me watching her.

"I think Alpha Jason likes her. Maybe Eric made that social media statement to protect his Alpha's girlfriend."

I frowned at her words. She quickly continued, "I'm not just guessing. I forgot to tell you—that night, my friend overheard them talking. They were discussing spending the night together."

Hearing that, my blood started boiling. I yanked my hand away from her.

My sudden move left Lynda speechless.

"Don't follow me."

I snapped at her like she was the reason for my anger.

I headed toward the bar where Patric was drinking and people-watching.

"What happened?" Patric asked.

I ordered a drink and turned to look at Natalia again.

"Do something, Patric. This woman is driving me completely insane."

"That's your fault. You wanted to make her your Luna. Now deal with it."

Patric laughed, thinking I was talking about Lynda.

The bartender set my drink on the counter. I grabbed it and downed it in one gulp.

"Bro, chill out. We're not in our own pack," Patric warned me.

I ignored him and kept watching Natalia. She was talking to yet another guy.

The guy gestured toward the bar area where I was drinking.

Her eyes briefly met mine, but she quickly looked away and started walking in my direction with the guy.

She stopped just a few feet from me. I closed my eyes as her scent hit me. It woke up my inner beast all over again.

"What would you like to drink?" the guy asked Natalia.

I scoffed when I heard her say she didn't drink. She turned to me and asked, "Excuse me? Do you have a problem?"

Acting like she didn't even know me.

I glared at her and nodded toward the guy standing beside her.

"Is he your new target?"

The guy's eyes went wide like I'd just insulted him. He was about to say something, but Natalia held up her hand to stop him.

"Leave," she told him.

When the guy walked away from the bar, Natalia looked at me and asked, "So what were you saying?"
