Alpha's Twins Chapter 108
"Adrian, put me down."
I'd been yelling at this man for the past few minutes, but he acted like he was stone deaf. He completely ignored me and kept trudging in some direction I couldn't even guess.
What annoyed me most was how slowly he was walking, like some old guy taking a Sunday stroll.
"If you actually want to help me, then move faster. My secretary's outside waiting for me, and she's an omega. I'm worried something might happen to her."
"What about you? Aren't you an omega too? Who the hell gave you the bright idea to wander into a dark forest at night? What if something happened to you?" He snapped at me.
I glared at him. "Excuse me? Who are you to lecture me? What gives you the right?"
He looked down at me and said, "Will you shut your mouth, or..." He paused.
"Or what? What are you gonna do?"
His eyes drifted from mine down to my lips. "Or I'll shut it my way."
I looked away from him. "Don't make me hurt you, Adrian. I can be a real problem for you."
"Oh really? How's that?"
His tone was pure mockery, like he was daring me to show him what I could do.
It was impossible to shake the hatred I felt for this man. One by one, every painful memory he'd caused me flashed through my mind. Being pregnant had really reminded me who this bastard was.
How could I forget what he'd done to me? The pain was still there, this gaping hole in my heart that would never heal. A piece of me was gone forever, and nothing could fix that.
I got pissed at myself for even talking to him. I clenched my jaw and squeezed my eyes shut.
My claws shot out as rage took over. I wanted to teach this asshole a lesson. How dare he think I was weak?
When I wrapped my hands around his neck, he probably thought I was giving up.
He actually laughed. "See? Now you get it. Only I can help yo—"
He froze mid-sentence when something sharp pierced his upper back, just below his neck.
I dug my claws in deep, making sure it hurt like hell.
He let out a low groan, shutting his eyes and gritting his teeth.
I smiled coldly. "I'm not the woman you think I am. I can be way more ruthless than you ever were to me."
He opened his eyes and stared at me. They'd turned red, like his wolf was feeling the pain too.
"Who are you?" he asked, studying my face.
His question caught me off guard. I immediately pulled my claws out of his skin.
Had I gone too deep? Deep enough to mess with his memories?
"How can your claws come out so easily? Normal wolves can't do that."
I smirked. "Not everyone's got the skills, you know. Having a big wolf doesn't mean you've got all the abilities."
I caught a glint of amusement in his eyes.
Suddenly, I felt a sharp sting on my arm that made me jerk in his grip.
"Having a big wolf and all the abilities—that's what Alpha Adrian's about," he said smugly, grinning at me.
I looked down and saw him dragging his claws across my arm.
*How does this guy have every power in the book? Is he the moon goddess's golden child or something?* I thought.
I tried to look away and get down, but he tightened his hold on me.
"Trust me. I know the way. I'll get you back to your secretary," he said in this calm voice, like he was being completely honest. His claws retracted, just like mine had.
I knew arguing would be pointless—he wouldn't listen anyway. So I kept quiet and let him help me get back to my car.
After a while, I heard a voice calling out. "Boss, where are you?"
"That's Damia!" I said.
"Relax. We're almost there," Adrian assured me.
The fact that he knew where my car was parked surprised me. Wasn't he supposed to be deep in the forest? How did he know where to go?
My eyes widened as something occurred to me.
I punched his chest. "You did this on purpose!"
"What?" he asked, completely ignoring the hit.
"How do you know where I need to go? You planned this whole thing. You were near the road and tried to trap me."
"And you fell right into it!" He winked.
"Put me down right now, you bastard!"
I yelled, but he ignored me and kept walking toward the light from the street.
When we reached the road, I saw Damia standing by a tree, calling out for me. She was about to head into the woods to look for me.
Relief washed over her face when she spotted us, but then she looked shocked when she realized Adrian was carrying me.
"Put me down," I hissed under my breath.
Adrian ignored me and walked straight to the car where my driver was waiting.
When the driver saw us, he quickly opened the back door.
Adrian helped me onto the seat and shut the door. He turned to Damia, who'd followed us.
Damia's face turned red as she looked away from Adrian's bare chest.
"Take care of your boss. Her leg's injured."
After saying that to Damia, he headed back toward the forest.
"Boss, his back is bleeding!" Damia whispered through the window.
"We shouldn't care," I replied.
Within seconds, his silhouette disappeared into the darkness.
I stared after him with a blank expression. I had no idea why he'd helped me tonight. He could've just left me there to die.
I felt a hand on my legs. Looking down, I saw Damia holding my legs as she opened the door to check my wound.
She stared at the blood on my ankle, looking confused.
"What was he talking about, Boss? Maybe he saw the blood and thought it was yours. Did you maybe step on a bird's nest in the dark?"
I frowned. "Why?"
She pulled a tissue from her bag and reached for my ankle.
"Don't touch it, sweetie. Let me clean it myself."
"No, it's okay. Boss, let me do it."
She wiped my ankle clean to show me.
"Boss, there's no wound on your leg. It's completely healed, like you were never hurt at all."
