Alpha's Twins Chapter 120
Adrian spun around and headed straight for the door. I glanced around frantically, looking for somewhere to hide. There was a thick column nearby—I made a dash for it and pressed myself against the back.
Peeking around the edge, I watched Adrian's officials storm out of the meeting hall, their faces twisted with anger. They didn't spot me as they marched past my hiding spot. When I saw Adrian following behind them, I squeezed my eyes shut and flattened myself against the pillar.
*Wait a minute. Why the hell am I even hiding?*
Was it because I'd told Beta Patrick earlier that my brother would never humiliate anyone and would make fair decisions? But he'd done exactly the opposite.
My eyes flew open when someone grabbed my wrist and yanked me out from behind the column.
I nearly gasped when I saw it was Adrian.
He started dragging me in the opposite direction. I shot him a dirty look but didn't yell—I was terrified of making things worse for my brother's reputation.
Adrian pulled me to another corner, well away from the meeting hall.
"What are you—"
He slammed me against the wall and glared down at me.
"How could you just stand there and listen to him humiliate me? You didn't even try to stop him."
I was stunned. How did he know I was there?
My eyebrows shot up as it hit me—he'd known I was in the hall the whole time.
Was it my scent?
"Why would I interfere?" I asked, shrugging.
He frowned at me. "You know why I kept my cool while your brother was spouting all that bullshit? Because of you. I thought you'd come into the hall and..." He trailed off, shaking his head like he was disappointed.
"Excuse me? How can you expect me to stick up for you?"
He stared at me with those sharp eyes. "So you don't give a damn how I felt in there?"
I was speechless. What was he even talking about? Why would I care about his feelings?
"You've lost your mind, Adrian Miller. Why would I care? Who are you to me that I should give a shit?"
He looked like I'd slapped him. I had no idea why I was even wasting my breath on this guy.
I tried to move, but he planted his hands on either side of my head, just like he'd done at the Storm Forest Pack party.
I was terrified he'd pull the same stunt again.
"If you try something like that again, I'll—"
"Claw me?" he asked, letting out a bitter laugh.
I froze when I heard him mocking me. My gaze drifted to his body. His words brought back that night in the forest when he'd helped me. I'd clawed his back then.
I wondered why he was so calm about it. Why hadn't he asked for something to heal those wounds?
"I thought making an alliance with your pack would be my first move to reach out to you guys. But what did your brother do? When I asked to stay in his pack house, he shot me down right to my face."
I could see the hurt in his eyes. I don't know why, but I couldn't look at them for long. So I looked away and said,
"You deserved it."
He moved closer, and I turned my head to avoid facing him.
"My dad personally invited you to stay at our pack house. That's how my family treated you. Even after our divorce, they kept showing you love. But how did your family treat me? They mocked me every damn second and talked down to me like I wasn't an Alpha but just some random pack member they could shit on whenever they felt like it."
His words were starting to piss me off. I shoved him hard enough to make him stumble back.
I glared at him and let him have it.
"What my brother did was absolutely right. I've been waiting for this day. Your family treated me well because I always showed them love. But my family knows exactly what you did to me. You're nothing to me and my family—you don't even deserve to be a pack member. You're lucky my brother only humiliated you. He should have killed yoummmph..."
I didn't see it coming when he closed the distance and crashed his lips against mine.
I tried to push him away, but he grabbed my wrists and pinned them behind my back. This made my body press against his as he pulled me closer.
I struggled in his grip. His thundering heartbeat almost made me freeze. He tilted his head and kissed me deeper.
The way his lips moved against mine brought back memories from years ago.
I hated how my past kept haunting me.
I squeezed my eyes shut to calm myself as they almost shifted color. My claws extended, and I raked them across his chest in fury.
He groaned in pain and broke the kiss. He looked down at his chest, seeing the claw marks on his shirt where I'd torn right through the fabric.
His eyes turned red as he looked back at me. "You've given me so many scars, darling. Let me return the favor."
Before I could process his angry words, he crushed his lips against mine again. He bit down hard on my lower lip, sending a sharp pain through me.
I hissed when I tasted blood in my mouth. He pulled back and stared at me.
His whole face was blazing with rage. I touched my lips and saw blood on my fingertips.
I grabbed his collar and glared at him with pure fury.
"How dare you touch me without my permission?"
He glared right back and shot back,
"I don't need anyone's permission to touch you. No one can stop me—not even you."
