Alpha's Twins Chapter 178

"Alpha, don't you want to go inside?"

My driver's voice snapped me out of staring at Natalia.

But I couldn't help stealing another glance at her.

My driver dropped his head when he caught on that I wasn't in the mood to chat.

I'd driven all this way to talk to Natalia, but now that she was right there in front of me, I was completely tongue-tied.

What was I supposed to say? How would she react?

While I was sitting there overthinking and watching her, I picked up some voices from outside.

"She's like a butterfly. Hard to catch."

"Yeah, but dude, she's your sister-in-law. Don't look at her like that."

"Come on, man. I'm the one who introduced you to Natalia."

"So what? Your big brother's got dibs on her. Quit checking her out."

I scowled when I heard that conversation. Their words—and hearing Natalia's name—made my jaw clench even tighter.

A couple of college guys walked past my car.

Looked like they'd been leaning against it a minute ago. With the tinted windows, they probably figured the car was empty.

I watched them head into the coffee shop and grab a table near the counter. One of them flashed a grin and said something to Natalia.

Had to be the same guy who'd told his buddy to call Natalia his sister-in-law.

My hands balled into fists when I saw Natalia give him this warm smile as he walked up to place his order.

The coffee shop had floor-to-ceiling windows. They'd pulled all the blinds open to let the sunlight pour in, so I had a clear view of everything going on inside.

I couldn't just sit there anymore. I shoved the car door open, got out, and slammed it shut.

I strode into the shop, and the little bell above the door chimed. Some kind of customer alert system.

I ignored it and walked in. Looking around, I could see most of the customers were high school and college kids.

Every pair of eyes in the place landed on me, sizing me up.

I bet none of them had a clue who I was. If they did, they wouldn't dare stare at me like that.

My gaze swept the shop and stopped at the counter.

Natalia was nowhere to be seen. I spotted a door behind the counter and figured she'd gone back there.

"Excuse me, sir. Would you like a table?" a girl asked.

I glanced at her apron—definitely an employee.

"Get your other worker."

"Who, sir? Are you looking for someone specific?" she asked, her cheeks turning pink.

"Call Natalia. I don't have time for twenty questions."

I practically growled it. The customers at the tables closest to the counter turned to stare at me.

"What are you doing here?"

Natalia's voice made me look toward the back.

The second she walked through that door, I couldn't look away.

She'd pulled her hair up in a high ponytail. The black shirt and blue jeans made her look impossibly young.

She always managed to look like she was barely out of high school.

My eyes dropped to her hands—she had a black apron draped over one arm. I spotted a wet paper towel in her other hand, so she'd probably been in the back washing the apron.

She set the apron on the counter, tossed the paper towel in the trash, then dried her hands with a small towel.

The whole time, she had this confused expression on her face. She walked over to me and asked quietly,

"What are you doing here?"

I could barely tear my eyes away from her. I grabbed her hand and said,

"Come with me. I need to talk to you."
