Natalia's eyes went wide. She stared at his mouth, completely stunned.

She could actually feel what he was doing in there. His tongue was gently licking her fingertips, running softly over her nails. She swallowed hard.

"W-What are you doing?" she stammered, trying to meet his eyes.

His gaze was locked on her, so intense it didn't look like healing at all—it looked like something else entirely.

She looked away and tried to pull her finger back. He released it.

She let out a breath she didn't know she'd been holding. Being this close to him was making her seriously uncomfortable. She took a step back.

But suddenly, he bent down and scooped her up by her knees.

She gasped. "Adrian, what the hell?"

He ignored her completely. He set her down on the desk and gave her a look that could cut glass.

"You're talking too much. I know exactly how to shut you up. If you won't let me heal you in peace, then you know what I'll have to do to stop you. And right now, you can't even kill me."

She was speechless. He took her hand and slipped another finger into his mouth.

She glanced at the finger he'd just released and realized he'd let go because it was completely healed—not because she'd tried to pull away.

Her finger was perfectly clean and smooth, still glistening with his saliva.

She held her breath as he started healing her fingers one by one.

Her eyes drifted back to his chest. She'd given him a fresh wound today. Since he was helping her heal, maybe she should return the favor.

She lifted her other hand and looked at the blood still seeping from her cuts.

She pressed her nails against his wounds, running her fingers along them.

He caught her hand and released her finger from his mouth.

"What are you doing?"

"I want to make this even. I don't want your help. But since you're helping me anyway, I'm trying to help you back..."

She paused, looking at the new wound. "Even if you wanted to, you can't heal these. Only my blood can heal them."

Adrian raised an eyebrow. "Really? You actually think that?"

Natalia frowned, confused by his question. Then her gaze shifted to the fresh wounds on his chest—they were healing fast.

She couldn't have been more shocked. It was like he'd been holding his wolf back from healing them.

He looked into her eyes, and there was something mysterious there. Her brother had surrendered his pack to this man for a reason. Adrian was way more powerful than she'd ever imagined.

"Why didn't you heal the old one?" she asked, her voice cold.

He leaned down toward her. She tried to back away. He took her healed hand and pressed it against his bare chest.

"I'd really appreciate it if you could heal me the same way I healed you."
