I decided to ignore their conversation and walked out of the house.

Kids are so easily influenced. What really bothered me was knowing they had to deal with all the nasty comments at school.

We couldn't control what people said.

Their dad was single, and their mom had a boyfriend—that was probably hot gossip among their friends and other parents.

But there wasn't anything I could do about it. I finally realized I had a right to live my own life too. I shouldn't care what people said about us. I was just worried about how all this was affecting my kids mentally.

I flagged down a cab and got in, telling the driver to take me to Moon Lovers coffee shop.

It was mid-afternoon, and the place was packed. This was always our busiest time of day.

When I walked in, I smiled at the staff as I headed to the counter.

"Liana," I called out, spotting her sitting on a stool behind the register.

"Am I late?" I asked, walking over to her.

"Not at all."

I nodded and grabbed my apron.

As soon as I started taking orders, I noticed some customers staring at me.

"Aren't you Natalia Hansley?" a young woman asked.

"Yeah, that's me."

"Would it be okay if I got a selfie with you?"

"Oh, can we too?" asked a couple of her friends sitting nearby.

I laughed awkwardly, not really sure what to say. This happened pretty much every day—people recognizing me and wanting photos.

I shot Liana a helpless look, and she nodded, walking over to their table.

"Sorry, ladies, but we don't allow photos with our employees," she said.

"But why not?"

"See that sign over there? It's a restaurant policy."

They turned to look at the white board hanging on the pillar that read: 'No Photos With Employees.'

The women looked disappointed. Since they couldn't get pictures, they started posting on social media about meeting me—the ex-wife of Alpha Adrian and girlfriend of Max Harrison.

Even though I had my own reputation in the Blue Blood Pack, here people only cared about the powerful men in my life.

"What can I get you?" I asked, trying to get back to work.

I didn't feel like some celebrity or special person. All this attention really messed with my head. But having my name linked to powerful men definitely impacted my daily life.

While I was making coffee, my phone rang.

I glanced at the screen—it was Max.

I wiped my hands on a towel and grabbed my phone, stepping into the break room to answer.

"Max."

"Where are you, sweetheart?"

I blushed when he called me that. We'd been getting closer gradually since he was giving me time to get over my past.

"I'm at work right now."

After we talked for a minute, he said, "I'm back at Crystal Blood Pack. I'll come pick you up when you're done."
