Alpha's Twins Chapter 259
Hearing my name roll off his tongue sent an odd shiver through me. I tried to summon the strength to push him away, but he pressed his body against mine, knocking the wind out of me for a moment.
He tilted his head, leaning closer to my ear. My jaw clenched tight when I heard his whisper.
"Don't say yes to him. He doesn't deserve you."
*What am I supposed to do with that? Laugh?*
I let out a bitter laugh. "Oh, so I deserve to be alone forever instead?"
"Mmm. You deserve better," he murmured, finally releasing my arms and bracing his elbows against the wall.
I tried to wrap my head around what he was saying.
"Someone better? How exactly am I supposed to find someone better? You screwed up my life so thoroughly that being alone forever was pretty much my only option. But fate's giving me another shot, and I'm going to take—"
I stopped mid-sentence when his palm suddenly covered my mouth.
He turned away from my ear and looked straight into my eyes.
I stared back at him. His gaze drifted from my eyes, wandering across my face. I blinked and looked away.
Why was he staring at me like that?
"Mmph—"
I tried to move his hand, but he pressed it down firmly.
"Don't even think about calling this second chance 'fate.' Your fate already dropped some pretty big hints about what it has planned. You're just fighting it."
I went rigid when I realized what he was getting at. I stopped struggling against his hand and shot him an icy glare.
He pulled his hand away from my lips. I felt his thumb brush against them. His lips parted slightly as he stared at mine. He traced his thumb over my lips, feather-light.
His eyes dropped to my dress, and he said,
"Why'd you dress up like this? You know exactly how to get my attention, don't you?"
I glared at him with pure venom. Every single thing he did, every word out of his mouth, made my blood boil.
In a fit of rage, I bit down hard on his thumb. He hissed, clearly not expecting that move.
He jerked his thumb away from my lips and shook it as blood welled up.
"You're such an animal," I spat.
He raised his hand and stuck his thumb in his mouth, never taking his eyes off me.
He chuckled softly after healing the bite.
"Animal? Right now I feel like a bird that just got out of its cage. Like I've been locked up for years."
There was a gleam of amusement dancing in his eyes, like he was savoring every second of this.
I squeezed my eyes shut, gathering every ounce of strength before shoving him hard.
This time, I actually managed to push him back.
"Wasn't two years of being your personal plaything enough for you? What the hell do you want now? Another round to satisfy whatever sick fantasy you've got going?"
