Alpha's Twins Chapter 255
Natalia's POV
"So Natalia Hansley was hiding them from Alpha Adrian all this time?"
I listened to Adrian's announcement, but the way everyone looked shocked—like he'd just said something completely forbidden—caught me off guard.
What exactly was there to whisper about? Couldn't they see that this man had allowed my family to live in this pack? Why did they keep bringing up his brother's actions against him?
I noticed Adrian staring at me. I shot him a cold look. This man was responsible for all the drama.
Despite everything he'd put me through, he was standing there pretending to be some innocent father.
My gaze slowly shifted down to my children.
Tears welled up in my eyes as I fought to keep it together.
They were my babies, my whole world. It had been way too long since I'd seen them.
"Here."
I heard Max's voice. I glanced at the handkerchief he was holding out. When I looked up at him, he nodded like he was saying *I've got you*.
Even though I'd turned down Adrian's invitation, I'd come here with Max. I was Max's date, not Adrian's guest.
I took the handkerchief and dabbed at the corners of my eyes.
"Mommy!" Noah's voice rang out across the hall.
He broke away from Adrian's side and made a beeline straight for me.
The other guests stepped aside to let him through.
I dropped to my knees and wrapped him in the biggest hug. Aria did the same, running over to throw her arms around me.
"We missed you, Mommy," Aria said, squeezing my neck tight.
I held them both close.
"My babies, I missed you too."
When I finally let go, I cupped their faces and kissed their cheeks.
"You two are the most beautiful little souls in the world."
While I was talking to my kids, I noticed a pair of expensive leather shoes approaching.
I looked up to see who it was.
Adrian's tall frame towered over me, blocking the light from the chandelier hanging in the center of the hall.
I stood up, avoiding his gaze.
"I'm glad you decided to come," Adrian said.
Before I could answer, Max spoke up beside me.
"I asked her to come with me."
Adrian's eyes shifted from me to Max. The way they darkened made it pretty clear he wasn't happy about Max being here.
"Alpha, good to see you again," Max said, extending his hand.
Adrian shook it—ever the professional—but his expression said something completely different.
"Please, enjoy the party. I'd like to have a private word with my family," Adrian told Max.
"Family? Seems like you forgot she's not part of your family anymore."
Max's sharp comeback clearly caught Adrian off guard. He definitely wasn't expecting Max to come at him like that.
I cleared my throat, cutting into their little standoff.
I looked at my twins, who were staring at their father before turning to look at Max.
They were probably wondering who Max was. So I smiled at them and started to introduce him.
"Kids, I want you to meet Uncle Max. He's Mommy's—"
Max cut me off.
"Your mommy's soon-to-be boyfriend."
